Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $139.00 from Retailer

Strengths:
Outstanding bass, professional grade durability and construction, will almost last forever.

Weaknesses:
Could improve connector terminals. They seem flimsy. I soldered the wires on for good measure.

Summary:
This is my second review of the Kicker C158. I am extemely satisfied with this subwoofer. As I mentioned in the last review, I am a mobile DJ who replaced the dry-rotted paper cone driver in my Fender 115SA subwoofer with the Kicker C158. I DJ'd a wedding last week in a fairly large banquet hall with over 200 people and my Kicker-loaded subwoofer sounded excellent! The bass response was outstanding whether I was playing motown, disco, rock & roll or dance music. if the Kicker C158 is good enough to meet the demands of a DJ, it surely will please the car audio enthusiast.

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $139.00 from Local Retailer

Strengths:
Solid construction, tough as nails, awesome bass output.

Weaknesses:
I'd like to see screw-on speaker terminals instead of those male spade connector terminals.

Summary:
Car audio is not my specialty. I am a mobile DJ who needed to replace the dry-rotted subwoofer in my bass cabinet. I decided to try a high-end car audio subwoofer instead of a replacement paper-cone sub. I know sound and trust me when I tell you that this Kicker subwoofer is a quality product. I liked the rubber surround and cone material. I can't believe the difference in sound once I installed the subwoofer! The frequency response seems greatly improved. It's like night and day. I used it last night at a sweet 16 party and the Kicker C158 REALLY made a difference. Kids like loud music, but low-end makes all the difference in the world. I use a separate 400 watt amp to power my Kicker-loaded subwoofer. This might not sound like much by car audio standards, but remember, this is AC rather than DC power. Anyway, I am very pleased with this subwoofer, so pleased that I just may replace the 18' driver in my larger subwoofer with another Kicker.
