Price Paid:  $99.00 from SoundDomain.com (clo

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 PWD 254 10" dual 4ohm voice coil sub

Summary:
I agree with the others on break-in... but once they come in, whoa! I'm only feeding my single sub 250wrms, but it does pretty well in its .65 cubic foot sealed box way back in the corner of my hatchback. Only drive my car about once a month (company vehicle), so I'm still actually tuning the system. Should be even better down the road!

Strengths:
SQ. Plays tight and VERY low (for a 10") in a small, sealed enclosure. Could use every bit of 500wrms and not lose any SQ. Plays loud enough for me!

Weaknesses:
My amp. My system's setup. Out of production.

Similar Products Used:
Phoenix Gold, JL Audio, Pioneer, Cerwin Vega

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $99.00 from Car Stereo City

Year / Model Reviewed:
 PWD254

Summary:
Must say and awesome buy at CSC. They were having a clearout, and no, the $99.99 is not a mistype. Got 2, as they only had 16 left betweem the stores. Brand Spanking new in the box, he opened one up in front of me and was just saying "I can''t believe the price on these!" I''m not sure of the break in time, but the sound was quite stiff at first. I had an older JL Audio 12W3D4, thats been broken in for a while. So at first, it sounded like crap, but as I played music constant for 2 hours, you could tell that they were starting to come to life. And boy did they start to, tight accurate base. I believe they are SQ/SPL subs, based on the power rating and quality of MB Quart puts in to them. Fiberglass woven material, looks cool. Like Carbon Fibre. Main reason with going with these, was the unbelieveable price. They normally retail for $400.00, online for about $180.00.

Strengths:
Sound Quality as I could hear them come to life. Looks, I like the wovem look. Binding posts for speaker wire connetors.

Weaknesses:
Time to break in, like any speaker. Never judge a speaker after taking them out of the box, installing them, and then listening to them for 30 minutes. Needs plenty of good CLEAN power to be driven effectively.

Similar Products Used:
JL Audio 12W3D4 & 8W6D6 & 10W6D6, Eclipse 8610 or something like that, Alpine Type R, Alumapro Alchemy series.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $120.00 from ubid

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000?

Summary:
i have one of these 10s'' behind the seat of my 1994 s-10 in a ported inclosure. i''m running a punch 800a4 bridged into the woofers two voice coils. it hits hard enough to make my rearview mirrors point down and makes your nostrils rattle. it gets a little sloppy if i really crank it, but the headlights are also dimming so i probably just need a cap.

Strengths:
carbon fiber cone is super stiff!!!

Weaknesses:
car starts to smell like melting voice coils after 10 seconds of 35hz test tones @ 880watts!! (i think the woofer is rated @ 525watts max)

Similar Products Used:
jl 10w0 (ok sub if you can get them for under $70 and you dont have a lot of power to work with)
