Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $80.00 from ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 Xenon 10D2

Strengths:
Performance...it gives the a good mix of sound quality and SPL.

Weaknesses:
Still waiting to see if there are any weaknesses.

Summary:
I had purchased this sub before and loved the performance. I contacted Pheonix Gold to ask what amp they suggested I use to run it and they told me to go with the Phoenix Gold Xenon 600.1 (600 watt x 1 @ 1, 2 or 4 ohms). The PG tech recommneded setting the subsonic filter @ around 17 Hz, the input sensitivity is @ about 3/4 and the LPF is set around 80 Hz. The sub is in a sealed custom box of about .90 cu. ft. and let me tell you...the bass is LOW and clean. The sub handled the amp for about 2.5 months and then it fried, so it's being sent back to Phoenix Gold to be rebuilt. Hopefully...it'll be fine when I get it back.

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $110.00 from www.sonicelectronix.

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 Xenon 10d2

Strengths:
Looks, performance, versatility

Weaknesses:
Haven't come across any yet

Summary:
I was skeptical when I first looked into this product. I had only heard that Phoenix Gold subs were good. I needed a dual 2 ohm voice coil sub so that I could run my amp on a 4 ohm load and I came across the Xenon 10d2. All I can say is that I'm extremely pleased with this sub. The bass is smooth, responsive and hits DEEP. Right now the sub is loaded in a custom sealed box of about .70 cu. ft. I was told if I can get the box to about 1.25 cu. ft....I'll get more from my sub. So...that's my next challenge.

I've had subs by SPL & Audiobahn and this one, by far is the best.
