Review 1 of 15

Price Paid:  $265.00 from sound pro conyers

Year / Model Reviewed:
1998 4 xmax 12s

Strengths:
Loud, deep and clear

Weaknesses:
low sensitivity,needs power

Summary:
I orginally had all four on a zpa0.3 amp and it was not enough power to drive them at all. 900w. I have them in a sealed box 1-1.2 on a hifonics 2000 watt amp running at 2 ohms so I am giving them 1000 watts (500 a piece) the two are hitting harder than the 4. I took out my cadence wild best 10s(2 of them) in a ProBox ported and the two phoenix gold 12s hit much harder deeper and louder. The probox was not intended for the wild beast at all. However i was giving the wildbeast 2000 watts. Go figure. I am about to put all 4 back in my car sealed and put them on a mmats dhc2200.1 amp at 1 ohm and lets see what they will do. With the right box and power they can be ridicolous. Ported prolly sounds excellent I do have the room for it. The sealed sounds liek a ported box though. Truly a SQL sub. If you have multiple ones you can hang with the ridicolous subs they have out now like RE (sx, mt, xxx), Fi, HD3, Cadence. The 12s can play al the frreq as a 10 but hits like a 12 My 2 12s on 1000watts sealed flexes my trunk and shakes my car in a benz s class.

Review 2 of 15

Price Paid:  $250.00 from Custom Car Audio in

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Phoenix Gold XMAX 12" Subs

Strengths:
Carbon Fiber construction allows them to handle ample power.

Weaknesses:
NONE (I have put them to the test)

Summary:
I have a Lanzar Opti50c pushing my 2 12's and they sound lovely. I only have my Lanzar turned up about half way, but I am still putting about 800rms into them, and they handle it great. I have gotten them to distort a bit but only under extreme wattage (1200rms). I entered a local competition and I hit 128 decibals, pretty good for the money.

Year / Model Reviewed:
2000 PG XMAX 12

Strengths:
strengths? well it's strong, can take a lot of power, pounds. put it in one word... phenomenal.

none whatsoever.

Summary:
I had the xmax10 before being powered by xs2300 and i loved it. unfortunately my car was stolen and took my whole system. now trying to rebuild it and i was lucky enough to find an xmax12 for $50 in a sealed box. then found an xs2500 for $100. what can i say, i loved it when i had the xmax10/xs2300, now i have xmax12/xs2500. go figure. you can't go wrong with this combination. these are very hard to find these days and you better get one if you're lucky enough to find one.
