Review 1 of 6

Price Paid:  $93.00 from Barney's Electronics

Year / Model Reviewed:
1995 Subaru Impreza Sport Wagon

Strengths:
Good low frequency response (down to 18Hz), the low low bas beats hard and clean. Also very accurate in general.

Weaknesses:
1) The X-max is low (only 8.3mm). If you want something for competitions or to just be really loud at around 50Hz go with a couple Kickers Comp12's. 2) Foam surround. I haven't had a problem yet but don't plan to push these too hard, susceptible to tearing.

Summary:
Inexpensive, $93 for 2 after shipping. I was previously using two Kicker Comp12's and these don't hit quite as hard, but have better overall response. Where the Kickers would really slam hard the Pioneer's start to distort. I have them each wired to 8 ohms with my amp bridged down to one channel seeing 4 ohms. I'm using a Rockford Fosgate 451S with a 4 yr. old Pioneer head unit. So they each get 275 of the 300 RMS watts they need.

Similar Products Used:
Kicker Comp12's - 150 Watts More rugged surround material that is double stiched. They don't hit as low but they are louder at 40 to 60Hz.

Review 4 of 6

Price Paid:  $50.00 from ebay

Strengths:
dual 4 ohm voice coil, very stiff IMPP cones, attractive design, voice coil cooling vents

Weaknesses:
I have yet to find something about these subs I don't like.

Summary:
I am actually using these subs in a home theatre system, not a car, and am very satisfied with the results. With 2 of them wired at 8 ohms each, driven by an old crappy amp, I can easily get 110+ dB with all kinds of music. They have fairly flat frequency resonse, and thats even with crap for amplification. Also, thats in a den. They would most definitley be more efficient in the small space of a car. I am extremeley satisfied with these subs, especially for the price. I was skeptical at first about using these for home audio, but I am glad I opted for this model. Definitely a good buy.

Review 5 of 6

Price Paid:  $130.00 from www.ikesound.com

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002 304DVC

Strengths:
With two of these subs, they can get EXTREMELY loud, and sound good. They can get very deep, and rattle your car apart, but they can also put out some pretty punchy bass that you can feel in the middle of your chest. I love these subs. too bad my car doesn't. My car rattles horribly. lol. I highly recommend these subs to anyone. I have 230 Watts RMS going to each sub, and they aboslutely pound. I got them off of www.ikesound.com for only $130 shipped for the two of them.

Weaknesses:
none. (so far)

Summary:
These subs are a very good for how little they cost!

Similar Products Used:
I've heard many other subs, but I have not owned any personally, so I can't really say I've had any similar products.
