from Audio Vibe Year / Model Reviewed: 2003 BL10 Strengths: Strong build quality, hits hard and rolls off smooth, awesome chrome basket (makes you wanna mount the sub upside down), heavy duty surround and cone materials, heavy duty wire terminals, good amount of Xmax on the cone, dual voicecoil flexability, provides both slam and finess at an awesome price! Weaknesses: None Summary: Well, first things first...the sub is definately affordable. Secondly, even after first opening the box to get at the sub, the packaging is nice and tidy, you get a cool little instruction manual, and a sticker to put on the back of the magnet (backplate of the magnet)if you want to...really cool idea in my opinion...the chrome plated basket and magnet plates look so nice that they let you decide if you want to put the model sticker on or not. The chrome plated basket looks so good that I wish sometimes I had mounted the sub facing into the box instead of out. The large roll rubber surround, heavy duty tinsel leads on the back, and the large heavy duty speaker wire terminals make you think this is a much more expensive sub than it actually is. In terms of the installation...I have mine installed in a 1.5 cu ft sealed box in a 2001 Ford Focus ZX3 Hatchback, being driven by a Power Acoustik OV2 300 ampllifier. The sound? It's awesome. I'm totally blown away by how great this little sub is. It can be tight and punchy when you want it to be, it can be smooth, it can be fat...it all depends on the music you listen to. I listen to Urban/R&B mostly, so the stuff I listen to has a bit of every kind of bass. It's loud, but smooth...paired up to the OV2 300, it simply hits a homerun in overall performance, espcially at this pricepoint. Some people have wondered what I had in the back of my car, even on the day I had it installed...they were shocked and equally impressed when they say it was a single 10" in a sealed box powered by a small amp. I've currently got around 200W RMS driving the sub, and I think that's a good amount. I don't need to crank the crap out of my amp, or over-tax the sub to get decent spl levels out of it. I would seriously recommend this little sub to anyone wanting to add bass to a factory system, or as a replacement(upgrade is more like it...lol!) from what they have right now. It provides some seriously smooth low-end, for a good price. I used to be a huge fan of JBL (still am), but the Power Acoustik can perform as good as I want, and at 1/2 the price. I've gotten other people interested in buying Power Acoustik products now because of how mine perform...so that says a lot right there! Similar Products Used: JBL, MTX, Clarion, SAS Bazooka
