from Ebay Year / Model Reviewed: 2003 RFR3112 Strengths: Stong, deep bass.
Performs well in vented enclosure.
Durabilty is unsurrpassed. Weaknesses: Requires alot of power.
Sound Quality is sacrificed a bit. Summary: All in all, a good subwoofer. When I first hooked it up, I was dissapointed at how loud I had to turn up my whole system to get decent output. I then realized my amp was still running at 4 Ohm, so I bumped it down to 1. At 1000 watts RMS, this sub starts to warm up. I realized after I had that much power going through it, what would a little more hurt? I threw 2 BD1500's at it, (one one each voice coil) to have a total wattage output of about 3200. There is no way I can decribe how low this sub goes now. I have a sine wave generator which I can set to 20Hz. This sub POUNDS when it hits it. I have it in a dual ported box with about 2.1 cubic foot of space inside. I know it's not much, but I didn't want it to sound too boomy. Good sub, but not a beginners level. If you want loudness from this sub, I recommend putting AT LEAST 1500 watts RMS into it. I have already seen one 12" handle 4000+, so don't worry about bowing it up.
