Review 1 of 10

Price Paid:  $10.00 from WalMart

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Meguiar's gold car wax

Summary:
For years I always used Mothers brand car wax, which was excellent. They were out of it at the store this time, so I decided to try Meguiar's. I applied it to my 2003 yellow corvette. It went on easy and smelled good too. After buffing it out I was blown away at the shine! Way brighter than the Mothers product. And the chrome wheels had never shined as bright. I highly recommend this product and will continue to use it.

Strengths:
Very High Shine. Goes on easy. Smells good.

Weaknesses:
Takes some time to buff out.

Similar Products Used:
Mothers Car wax

I have always liked their waxes and polishes, but I was amazed at the results I got from this stuff. It went on easy and came off even easier.

Strengths:
Leaves paint looking very deep and rich. Excellent beading of water when I wash it.

Weaknesses:
None

Review 3 of 10

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I will stand by Meguiar products as a whole, but not this wax. I have found that it turns to a thick chalky form if left in cracks (which is the first thing I learned as a detailer not to do.) It is not a cleaner wax and performs nowhere near a cleaner wax. After finishing a wax job on a vehicle, much extra bufing with my orbital buffer to get the grit feeling off. No doubt that it looks pleasing to the eye, but People like to feel their vehicles(and I always trail them with a buffing cloth wiping away finger prints.) For the price I say that this wax is not worth it, the cleaner wax would be a better choice. If you have a lot of time I would go with the three step wax.

Review 4 of 10

Price Paid:  $9.00 from Target

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001

Summary:
I bought this because my friend said it worked great on his black car. I have a silver car and was in need of wax...so i gave this a try. I have to say that this is by far the most EASIEST and FASTEST waxes to apply and take off. The car shined like no other, but that could also be due to me using Mothers Clay bar and EAGLE 1 polish 1 week before the Gold Class. At any rate, the finish was soo smoother and pretty much made the car look even better then the day it came out of a dealership. I work a lot on my car... and have been modifying my prelude for over a 2 years now, i do have to say that this is a good way to make my work pay off by using such a good product.

Strengths:
Very easy to use. Goes on easy and takes off easy as well. Althought i wonder why it goes on so thin, compare to other wax such as carnuba.

Weaknesses:
Its been a week and a half since i put the wax on, and it rained in NY for about 1 week straight. I havent washed the car yet, but it looks like i will have to reapply the wax again within the next 2 weeks. Doesnt last as long as other waxes. Thats ok i guess, but becomes a pain when every so often you have to take time out and do this.

Similar Products Used:
I used Carnuba wax before from MAGUIARS and i think its just as great....and Defenetly lasts longer. I would also suggest EAGLE 1 car polish/wax.

Review 5 of 10

Price Paid:  $37000.00 from Dan Tobin GMC

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2003 GMC ENVOY

Summary:
Absolutely a fantastic product! "Gold Class is the best" I was amazed at how well it brought out the deep blue color of the vehicle. I also used it on my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder and was thrilled with how it brought out the shine and covered up some small scratches.

Strengths:
Easy to put on and take off. It also provides a fantastic shine with little effort. Just an outstanding product.

Weaknesses:
Must apply every 4-5 weeks. Does not last as long as I would like, although waxing a car is something I enjoy anyway.

Similar Products Used:
Eagle one, Turtle Wax, Mothers, Poly Shield
