Strength:

Very High Shine. Goes on easy. Smells good.

Weakness:

Takes some time to buff out.

For years I always used Mothers brand car wax, which was excellent. They were out of it at the store this time, so I decided to try Meguiar's. I applied it to my 2003 yellow corvette. It went on easy and smelled good too. After buffing it out I was blown away at the shine! Way brighter than the Mothers product. And the chrome wheels had never shined as bright. I highly recommend this product and will continue to use it.

I have always liked their waxes and polishes, but I was amazed at the results I got from this stuff. It went on easy and came off even easier.

I will stand by Meguiar products as a whole, but not this wax. I have found that it turns to a thick chalky form if left in cracks (which is the first thing I learned as a detailer not to do.) It is not a cleaner wax and performs nowhere near a cleaner wax. After finishing a wax job on a vehicle, much extra bufing with my orbital buffer to get the grit feeling off. No doubt that it looks pleasing to the eye, but People like to feel their vehicles(and I always trail them with a buffing cloth wiping away finger prints.) For the price I say that this wax is not worth it, the cleaner wax would be a better choice. If you have a lot of time I would go with the three step wax.

Strength:

Very easy to use. Goes on easy and takes off easy as well. Althought i wonder why it goes on so thin, compare to other wax such as carnuba.

Weakness:

Its been a week and a half since i put the wax on, and it rained in NY for about 1 week straight. I havent washed the car yet, but it looks like i will have to reapply the wax again within the next 2 weeks. Doesnt last as long as other waxes. Thats ok i guess, but becomes a pain when every so often you have to take time out and do this.

I bought this because my friend said it worked great on his black car. I have a silver car and was in need of wax...so i gave this a try. I have to say that this is by far the most EASIEST and FASTEST waxes to apply and take off. The car shined like no other, but that could also be due to me using Mothers Clay bar and EAGLE 1 polish 1 week before the Gold Class. At any rate, the finish was soo smoother and pretty much made the car look even better then the day it came out of a dealership. I work a lot on my car... and have been modifying my prelude for over a 2 years now, i do have to say that this is a good way to make my work pay off by using such a good product.

I used Carnuba wax before from MAGUIARS and i think its just as great....and Defenetly lasts longer. I would also suggest EAGLE 1 car polish/wax.

Strength:

Easy to put on and take off. It also provides a fantastic shine with little effort. Just an outstanding product.

Weakness:

Must apply every 4-5 weeks. Does not last as long as I would like, although waxing a car is something I enjoy anyway.

Absolutely a fantastic product! "Gold Class is the best" I was amazed at how well it brought out the deep blue color of the vehicle. I also used it on my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder and was thrilled with how it brought out the shine and covered up some small scratches.

Strength:

Very easy to apply and buff off. Gives the finish a deep shine.

Weakness:

Does not last as long as traditional carnauba wax.

This is a fine product for those who wax their car frequently (once a month). I keep my car covered so the wax lasts much longer for me. I agree with the previous post that in that I also do not want the wax to build up on the car. The proper steps must be done to achieve the best results (wash, clean, polish, wax). However, polishing should be done infrequently (twice a year). Gold Class is a very good product and bumped my old trustworthy Carnauba wax to the back of the shelf.

Strength:

Brings out the shine especially if the colour of your car is "intense" e.g black, red etc..

Weakness:

I see the shine detriorate after 2 weeks. It does not cover or remove swirl marks for long. I use the Meguiar Quick Detailer to maintain the shine. {well I am not sure if this is mix and match is advised, but it helps to maintain the beautiful shine)

Good product as it really brings out the shine. I have tried quite a few products such as Autoglym and Johnnson Carnauba Wax and I have to say that this Meguiar product brings about the shine for dark coloured cars.

Autoglym, Johnson Kit Carnuaba Wax (which is very durable and removes swirl marks easily while being clear coat safe)

Strength:

This is one of the best combination products I've seen. Good for those who want to save labor.

This product leaves a beautiful deep shine and my 10 year old car looked better than new Toyotas at a dealership I went to recently. For looks it is everything Meguiar's said it is.

Applies well by machine.

The abrasives break down when applied so they limit their cutting action. You can't ruin your finish by using this product.

Weakness:

It is a combination product. While it leaves a nice finish it doesn't seal the finish as well as a glaze/sealer, and isn't as durable as Meguiar's #26 Hard Yellow with Carauba.
It is not for oxydized finishes. Use the Meguiar's Surface Prep or show car Glaze if the finish is less than very good quality.

Durability. Consumer's reports, while listing this as a very good product, placed this lower in durability. My experience has found this to be true. I generally do a second coat of Paste by hand after appling Gold Class by machine.

This is not designed for oxydized finished where abrasion needs to be minimized.

Don't use this product if you only wax once or twice a year.

I like this product, but I have mixed feelings about it. I think that this product is a much better quality than Meguiars best selling cleaner/wax. As a combination cleaner wax it does a good job. If your car finish is in good condition with some very light scratches it quite honestly will make the finish better than new. I had 2 cars, one I used the two step method of a glaze/sealer, then a conventional wax, and on the other I used the gold class was only. The first time they looked very good. I honestly couldn't tell the difference.

Durability was another matter however. The glazed/Carnauba Wax treatment lasted much longer, and what's made a difference, it kept that just finished look longer. But the 2 step approach took longer to apply.

Best use, use this as a first coat, then use #26 Hard Yellow Paste on Horizontal surfaces for better durability and longer protection. Vertical services in my experience just don't suffer the abuse that the roof, hood and trunk do.

Similar Products Used:

Nufinish 2001, TurtleWax, Prestone, Kitt, Kitt and Nufinish say you only need to do it once a year, but I haven't found that to best preserve the finish. Meguiars applied every 6-8 weeks works best for me.
