Summary:
American thunder exhaust on a 5.8L with no cats and hooker headers, the most bad ass sounding mustang around. scares the crap out of anyone who dares pull up next to me.

Strengths:
deff incease in hp and extremely deep troaty muscle tone.

Weaknesses:
had to do custom fitting seeing how i have a 5.8L with custom pipes

Review 3 of 37

Price Paid:  $300.00 from www.summitracing.com

Year / Model Reviewed:
1997 Chevy Camaro

Summary:
I just got the american thunder cat back system for my v6 3.8l camaro and installed myself but I didn't think it was the easiest install. From what I have seen and heard from the exhaust is there is a decent power boost and the rpm's rev a lot easier, it is definitly loud and people know when I am coming but I think it sounds a little too much like a ricer, I am happy with the power increase but not all that happy about the sound, I like the loudness it just sounds too much like a ricer.

Strengths:
power increase, rpm's rev easier

Weaknesses:
sounds too much like a ricer

Review 4 of 37

Price Paid:  $170.00 from AutopartsAuthority

Year / Model Reviewed:
1997 Honda/Civic

Summary:
muffler makes rattling sounds throughout the rpm range. sent it back and got another one. 2 weeks later it started again. other than that its fine. I just dont think this muffler was designed for a performance exhaust system. i am sure that if the exhaust was oem, it probably would be fine.

Strengths:
inexpensive bolt on part. low exhaust noise

Weaknesses:
would not call it a performance part, but good oem replacement

Similar Products Used:
reactive headers, high flow cat.
