Review 1 of 16

Price Paid:  $0.00 from friends garage

Year / Model Reviewed:
1990 nissan s13 180sx

Summary:
i recently picked up the hks super dragger for my 180sx in trade for a wire feed welder. needless to say a steal. the exhaust was still in its origional packaging ang had never been bolted onto a car in its life. the exhaust was built for the nissan 240sx, but my imported 180sx has the same body specs. it bolted up like a dream, i couldnt have asked for an easier or cleaner installation. it looks great, sounds really throaty, doesnt have the high pitched 'waap' that my greddy exhaust did ( go figure ) i have noticed a gain in power and didn't loose any low end torque.

Strengths:
car idles smoother, richer sound than other catbacks, high flow and no loss in low end power

Weaknesses:
i wasnt introduced to hks before i wasted my time on greddy products

Similar Products Used:
greddy cat back ( cant remember model )

Review 2 of 16

Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
1993 EG6

Summary:
The catback was in very good condition despite used. The piping follows the original route. Installation was straight forward. I ran it with a test pipe, complete with intake, header, pnp etc. It is really quiet to me. I was previously running custom straight flow down the center with 2.5" piping and a silencer and that was much louder. Even with the silencer. I could not tell if I have gained or lost power because the feel is totally different. I can no longer hear VTEC scream when it engages. It was not loud at all at 9000rpm. I could hear my intake which was louder. straight flow exhaust felt different because it's audibly rough up the RPM. you can hear the screaming pitch. but with the Super Drager, it's really smooth and quick up the RPM. It would be unfair to judge it performance wise because my A/F ratio needs to be retuned on the dyno before I can conclude. Other traits in comparison to the straight flow, it makes the engine idle smoother, and it hangs higher than the straight flow so no more bottoming out over speed bumps. the muffler itself will not bottom out because it's located so close to the rear axle. though it hung a little low. could be fixed if you swap in shorter rubber hangers.

Strengths:
-very quiet (if stock was 1 loudest was 10, i'd give it 2.5) -HKS - you know it's quality stuff.

Weaknesses:
i only worry when i back up into the parking lot. the tip might hit the curbs now instead of my tow hook.

Similar Products Used:
Stock, custome straight flow, tanabe racing medallion on another car.

Review 3 of 16

Price Paid:  $100.00 from AUCTION

Year / Model Reviewed:
2000 Accord Coupe

Summary:
I bought it used for $100 bucks! good deal but the problem was it has already a scratch and 1" crack across the canister! not a big deal i can weld it anyway! I was thinking of putting some customize protective shielding made from Aircraft Aluminum Sheet Metal to protect it from scratching! Dyno Proven Increase in HP i will recommend this if you have the money but otherwise just buy used exhaust, So it wont hurt your pocket too much!

Strengths:
-Noticeable Increase in HP specially if you have an Intake System -Dyno Proven Exhaust System -Deep Sound -Looks Da*mn Sweet! -Very rare to find someone that has HKS Drager on the street!

Weaknesses:
Canister Hangs too low! Too expensive if you buy it new! Not too loud for some hardcore drivers!

Similar Products Used:
Stock Muffler!

I bought my HKS Exhaust last month for my 2000 Eclipse GS. Exhaust was easy to install and looks great on the vehicle. Has good deep throaty tone except at highway speeds it has an annoying resonent "Hum" inside of vehicle. Also it is a little too expenive.

Strengths:
Easy to install....has good aggresive look

Weaknesses:
Sound level inside vehicle unacceptable at highway speeds.Sound resonates inside vehicle at certain RPM's.A little pricey
