Flowmaster 40 Series Muffler Mufflers

Flowmaster 40 Series Muffler Mufflers

Strength:

Low, deep rumble at idle, comes alive when you punch it

Weakness:

None so far

I was worried it might make my little 1.8L, 4 cyl sound ricer. Most hyundai people use Magnaflow. A friend with a tire shop offered it for $100 installed. An offer I couldn't refuse, and am I ever glad I didn't. It no has the perfect tone for me, a low rumble at idle, a more aggressive, louder sound when you want it to. Makes my little Elantra Coupe sound & feel a little more like the sports car it wants to be. Best $100 mod I've ever done

Weakness:

Interior drone, bad sound outside

I bought a 40 series single in/dual out muffler for my ram 2500 5.9l v8. I hate it. The interior drone is unbearable. I can hardly hear myself think, let alone try to have a conversation with a friend. The exterior noise is not nice sounding. It made my v8 sound like a v6. It sounds very hollow, not a nice deep tone.

Strength:

Muffler increases the sound level of my exhaust dramatically. It also improved my mpg. You definitely know when I'm coming your way now. My truck sounds like a true BEAST now.

Weakness:

None noticed

I am really pleased with this system. I was pleased from the first time I turned the key. If a person wants that true deep rumble, it is found in the 40 series.

Was parked on the lower level of the garage when leaving the gym. Put the key in the ignition and tapped the pedal. 3-4 car alarms were setoff. That let me know I had the right product. One of my friends told me that it sounds like a bunch of GORILLAS trying to get from out under the hood.

Strength:

Performance

Weakness:

If your car is a daily driver, the noise will start to get on your nerves.

My 91 trans am had a blown super turbo split halfway along one seam, but still not too loud. I finally decided to replace it, and my local parts guy suggested the Flowmaster 40 for performance. I like a mellow sound, and was very disappointed to find that the Flowmaster was way louder than my old blown muffler. It's not a nice loud either, honestly sounds like a badly blown muffler. The performance seems a bit improved, but at the cost of a boy racer image.

sounds good at 2000 RPM"s on my truck

Weakness:

seems to loose that sound once u get past 2000 RPM"s

I love the low rumble it gives at idle and at the lower RPM"s. I just wish it would boom a little louder at the higher RPM's. It just seems to get quiet after i get over two thoudand RPM"s with my truck, but luckily it doesn't operate over that range too much. So it's all good.

Better acceleration
Nice sound at low RPMs

Weakness:

I got installed a 10 Series Flowmaster muffler for my truck. It sounds great! Better acceleration, nice sound at low rpms and not to bad interior noise. Hardly hear it at 60mph on cruise. Still have the stock cat on it, but hope to change that soon to a Magnaflow. Went with a single pipe set-up that looks stock but sounds AWESOME!. Only had it for two days now.Great Product!
