Price Paid:  $2600.00 from onlin

Year / Model Reviewed:
1998 Honda Prelude

Summary:
Easily bumped up the power and speed of my Prelude and I loved it. Loved the much needed low and midrange power that it added which makes it a much easier daily driver around town. Honda motors typically need to be wound up for any decent go. the JRSC is a relative quick fix to that. I loved surprising other unsuspecting car owners.

The drive belt was tearin up my brake lines, which though were the installer's error for not bending the lines as was instructed. The engine torqued back and forth so much that one of the pulleys hit the driver side strut tower. I ate up a couple pulleys because of that before I figured out a quick fix. Traction is also an issue but that's expected on a fwd car with that much power to the wheels.

Strengths:
Added hp and torque provided particularly in the low and midrange where it's most needed on Hondas.

Weaknesses:
Lack of tunability. Stick it on and be happy with what it gives.

Review 2 of 36

Price Paid:  $2400.00 from From factory

Year / Model Reviewed:
1999 Honda civic SI B16A2 DOHC

Summary:
Jackson racing supercharger. Professionally installed. No alteration to existing ECU (not chipped)

Strengths:
Price (dropped 300.00 when decided to purchase) Did increase torque and lowered et's and increased hp of 40% (from stock 160 to 224)

Weaknesses:
Was told by Jackson rep's that no alteration of the ECU, fuel injectors, or fuel pump would be needed. It was stickly bolt on and use. This was not the case. During exceleration there is a slick knock as if using power fuel. Testing has founf that using premium fuel, higher flow fuel pump and high octane additives did nothing to address the issue. Tried retatrding time to help, but only created check engine light to come on. My last effort will cost me another 1,500.00 dollars to change fuel injectors and chip the ECU with Hondata or similar chip. If you decide to buy add 1,500.00 to 2,00.00 to the installation costs.

Review 3 of 36

Price Paid:  $1995.00 from Jackson

Year / Model Reviewed:
1995 Acura Integra LS

Summary:
My, first impression is still the one I have 2 months later, WOW!! The car pulls like there is no tomorrow @ 6psi. The feeling you get when you see the boost gauge cross the line from vac. to boost is unreal. What an awesome kit! Just press the gas and let the JRSC do it's thing, you WON'T be dissapointed! No more downshifting to get power. Some kid in his accord tried to pull me on the highway, came by me in the top of 3rd gear screaming. I just punched it in 5th, caught up, got even, then blew right by. I wonder what he thought when he heard the JRSC screaming at him! HA! Great for a daily driven car like mine where reliability is of concern. Installation was a battle, but it got done. The directions are kind of vague when it comes to critical parts! More pictures would have been very helpful!! If you want to do a smoky burnout, it won't take much effort on your half to do! The torque is awesome! It honestly feels like a completly different car. Overall, I love it!

Strengths:
-Cost compared to turbo! -Reliability -Quality -POWER!!!!!!

Weaknesses:
-none really, directions could have been better! -mounting the blower to the manifold is a pain in the #*^.!

Price Paid:  $2349.00 from Landspeedracing.com

Year / Model Reviewed:
2000 Honda Civic EX

Summary:
Overall, I am happy I bought this kit. Installation was a nightmare, due to the lack of pics/diagrams, but the end result is a reliable setup with no driveability problems or check engine lights. I am a little disappointed with low rpm torque, however. The engine still feels quite lethargic under 2800 r/min. I am still using the stock air system, but I've ordered an intake, so after install it, top-end power will hopefully improve; power falls off fairly quickly above 4500 r/min. Overall, I would still recommend the Jackson Racing Supercharger to anyone with an SOHC Civic. Just make sure you have an intake and header ready because the stock parts really dampen the effect of the supercharger. No problems with detonation whatsoever. Fuel economy has only fallen by about 1 mpg but has actually improved on highway trips.

Strengths:
Great sound Good midrange power Good fuel economy Very good quality

Weaknesses:
Lack of low-rpm power Lack of high-rpm power Requires premium fuel Very poor installation instructions

Price Paid:  $2499.00 from www.stylincompacts.c

Year / Model Reviewed:
2000 Honda Civic Ex Coupe

Summary:
Excellent product. Smooth acceleration, great torque. Can have a full car and still have a nice powered ride. No problems so far. I have many other mods done to my car including an ignition system which has prevented any detonation. So you guys with det probs should investigate a new complete ignition system. Also knocks and pings can be prevented by following JR's recommendation of using only 93+ premium gas and allowing the car to warm up for a couple miles before pushing the engine hard. If you're in cali or any other state where the premium gas is 91 tops, get some octane boost, and don't buy brand-x gas.

Strengths:
Smooth ride, makes a really cool sound (almost like an electric car)

Weaknesses:
None.
