Review 1 of 7

Price Paid:  $2850.00 from Out of business now

Year / Model Reviewed:
1989 Ford Mustang GT

Strengths:
Performance.
Durability.
Quality of Workmanship.

Weaknesses:
Makes a lot of noise at idle. Not very stealty at the stop light.

Summary:
The kit I have is the high output kits for 89 through 93 5.0 mustangs. This blower has performed exceedingly well for 9 years (70,000 miles). The car is an 89 GT mustang with AFR heads and so on. It is fast without the blower but with the blower Z06 Vettes are on the menu now. The kit was very well done. As an engineer for a railroad equipment manufacturer I was impressed with the completeness of the kit as well as the included instructions. This was not my first blower on this car. The previous blower was a SN-93 paxton. The paxton was a total peice of junk with fundimental design flaws. The only good thing about the Paxton was it's quitness. The Vortech is quite noisy at idle. (straight cut gears in my blower). The only part I have had to replace in the kit is the blower belt idler pulley. (20 bucks at any parts store) I highly recomend the Vortech blower kits.

Similar Products Used:
Paxton SN-93 kit. Very poorly designed and arrogant service people to boot. A real shame Vortech and Paxton merged.

Price Paid:  $2400.00 from www.SuperchargersOnl

Year / Model Reviewed:
1993 s trim

Strengths:
So much power and the sound I love.

Weaknesses:
It was pretty expensive but SuperchargersOnline.com gave me a pretty good deal on it.

Summary:
I love it. I never owned a supercharger before and this thing had me pin to the seat. I can beat cobras now with no problems. I also love the way it sounds. I don't think I will ever settle for anything else.

Price Paid:  $3000.00 from summit racing

Year / Model Reviewed:
 95

Strengths:
106 horsepower at rear wheels on stock ford mustang gt. added torque cool supercharger sound good conversation piece at a car show

Weaknesses:
none so far

Summary:
i have this supercharger on my 95 ford mustang gt. I have not had any problems with it and it has been 3 years since install. The blower gave me 106 hp at the rear wheels. I have the s-trim kit and it was supposed to give me 8 psi of boost and i'm really getting 8 1/2 pounds of boost. I highly recommend this if you got money to burn, superchargers arnt cheap.

Review 5 of 7

Price Paid:  $4000.00 from advanced motorsport

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1996 vw gti vr6

Strengths:
When working.. gives my car over 115 horsepower

Weaknesses:
Very costly repairs, because only Vortech will do them. Not at all reliable!

Summary:
If I were to spend the money on forced induction again I would probably go with a turbo kit. I originally went with the charger thinking it was more reliable, but i was very wrong! I have had to rebuild the vortech charger 2 times already. Repairs have cost me more money than I bought the damn kit for. I would not recomend buying a vortech supercharger!
