Weakness:

signing contract in the pick-up lot at night in the dark.
Bait and switch tactics
False advertising

I ordered a car online from Enterprise and sent a confirmation (Nissan Versa, Toyota Yaris or similar). Upon arrival I was told they had no compact cars available and would have to upgrade to an economy car at twice the price. When I went to the lot to pick up the car the attendant asked if I wanted a corolla or a Yaris. This feels like the old bait and switch, which I haven't seen in awhile.

I brought this situation to the attention of Enterprise and got a reply saying that this was being referred to a Regional Vice President and someone would contact me. It has been over a week and nobody has contacted me.

Worst Rental Company ever.

Rented a car in Billings, MT that turned out to be defective. The tires were bald, vehicle didn’t start one morning, there was no ice scraper even though it was winter. Upon return, I tried to get the clerk at the desk to look at it, but he didn't want to go out. Instead, he gave me a 10% discount for the 'inconvenience'. A few weeks later I received a bill for damage to the car! They claimed the tires were flat. I told them they weren’t flat when I returned it, but they were bald. I put on less than 500 miles so I did not cause the tires to go bald. I have been unable to resolve this with them. As an FYI they now also own Alamo & National. I will avoid the 'Enterprise Family' like I would the plaque.

An awful experience

I rented a car for long weekend (3days) couples months ago from Enterprise (Fisherman street) Brampton, Ontario, for 150.00$ excluding insurance coverage for plus tax. I have been rip-off/swindle. The agent asks me to take insurance, but I refused and I told him “I have my own insurance”. He threatened me, saying you have to pay if anything wrong or if any accident happens. Still I refuse. When I returned the car, everything was fine, no damage. The agent calls back 2 days after, saying the car has dent damage on the bottom of the car and I have to pay for it. I tried to explain the inspection wasn’t done properly, and the agent didn’t look underneath the car. No, they refuse to listen and said:” see, that’s why we ask you to take the insurance”. I had to pay $450.00CAN extra for small dent under the car.

SCAM

Got a car from this company after being in an accident.

Interesting to read about other people who think there is a scam going on.

We returned the car and got a bill for over $1000.00 for "damage" that had occured during the time the car was in our possession. The list had almost two dozen items on it.

Many calls later and we finally got through to the manager of the claims department who must have figured out that someone was up to something underhanded because he called to say that we were to rip up the letter and disregard it.

My best guess is that they want to scare people into paying to avoid having to get their insurance companies involved in another claim in such a short period of time and completely ruin their rating.

Strength:

none, at all, it was a horrible experience

Weakness:

everything about this entire company

i was rear-ended and forced to rent a car from enterprise due to the insurance which dictated which company to use. when i was given delivery of the vehicle they delivered a salt coated car that hadn't been cleaned since one of the many snow storms that passed through the area.

once my personal vehicle was fixed i dropped off the rental, and a month later was informed of an undisclosed amount of $$ that i owed for a quarter sized rust spot that they claimed occured when i was in possetion of the vehicle. over the course of several months the amount due for repairs changed, and the demand for money remained the same. i was furious that i was locked into a contract that held me liable for any and all damages that occured in that vehicle, and sadly hadn't thought to take pictures of the vehicle when i dropped it off proving it's return was in fact, intact!

my reccommendation, do NOT ever, Ever, EVER rent from this company, they will do everything they can to get your money with no regards as to how. as long as they make a profit...

Strength:

None. This was a terrible experience.

Weakness:

If this is how you treat customers, I'll never be back again.

Rented a car for three days while my car was in the shop. When I returned it to Piedmont Road, Atlanta location, Manager Matt Baker told me, after he had already charged my American Express card $261. that there was damage to the car. When I objected, he showed me a slight indentation on the edge of the roof.

The entire time the car was in my possession, it was parked in covered garages. I contend that I did not cause this. Customers checking for damage before taking out this car would not have noticed this - it was so slight. This is clearly a scam. The manager knew just where to look. I will never use Enterprise again under any circumstances.

Ripped Off by Enterprise!

We had a free Enterprise rental while our car was in the shop. We only had the vehicle for one day. When we returned the car there were no issues. Six hours later they call us to tell us that they are going to charge us $75 for a detailing fee because of excessive dog hair in the vehicle. We do not own any animals at all and only had the vehicle for 1 day.

This was clearly a rip off job that they were pulling on us. We escalated to their incompetent management team who did nothing. I truly believe that their employees used the vehicle after we did and sent us the bill. I will never rent or recommend Enterprise to anyone.

Did I mention I work for a fortune 50 company who rents a lot of cars. They will never own a contract with Enterprise and everyone I know will never rent from them.

Enterprise I hope the $75 dollars was worth all the business you just lost!

Weakness:

Poor customer service

Company wouldn't return phone calls when trying to book rental. Car was booked for a week, company called after 4 days looking for the car. Mistakenly left garage door opener in vehicle. Instead of calling when it was found, they put in lost and found. When I called to enquire, they (surprisingly) don't return phone calls, even when they say they will call back. Won't do business with them again ever.
