Review 1 of 12

Price Paid:  $180.00 from Internet

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 Lexus Is300

Summary:
I heard about all this intakes, that give more horsepower and fuel efficient and the noise (hissing noise) and faster responce from the car

Strengths:
I did feel some extra power (5 extra horse power), but not 15-20 as then state at some websites.

Weaknesses:
For $180 bucks it not really worth the trouble or them money. I kind of felt that my car was running rich..so be advised and make sure this is the product for you

Review 2 of 12

Price Paid:  $200.00 from AutoAnything.com

Year / Model Reviewed:
2000 Honda Accord EX 3.0L V6

Summary:
I've been using the K&N stock replacement filters for a few months now, and I thought about trying their intake kits. WOW! what a product for the money! adds acceleration and power; and the sound... my goodness! makes the car sound much more powerful. Its easy to install (only problem i had was tryin to get the stock system out).Plus, it adds a nice aftermarket look under the hood. By the way, I am using it in the short ram configuration and I chose the polished finish.

Strengths:
adds a much more masculine sound to the car, increases horsepower (notably acceleration), and adds a nice aftermarket under the hood

Weaknesses:
none so far

Review 3 of 12

Price Paid:  $240.00 from Pokes Performance

Year / Model Reviewed:
2007 Civic EX Coupe

Summary:
Cant review its longevity because it's been recently put in, but so far so great.... engine roars now when revved above 3000 rpms... it basically sounds loud when you want it to and normal when you don't.... i didnt get the intake for the better gas mileage, but it does improve it a fair amount (2-3 mpg) great part, not tooo much of a HP gain, but definitely what the dynos on the website promise (5.7 HP) ive never used K&N before, so i hope this thing lasts in an import... we'll see....

Strengths:
sound at mid RPMs, horsepower increases as promised by K&N, looks (its small, but shiny)

Weaknesses:
install... i wouldnt have wanted to do this myself

Review 4 of 12

Price Paid:  $260.00 from HiRevImports

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 Subaru WRX STi

Summary:
Great kit for the STi. Doesn't change the A/F ratio or causes any CEL. The most amazing sound when the turbo starts spooling and even more amazing when you shift, the bypass valve is really loud, everyone around is wondering what's that sound :-) 12 RWHP and 10 RWTQ dyno tested and proven. If you got an STi and considering an intake, this is the one to get. I believe it is also offered for the Lancer Evo and a few other cars.

Strengths:
- Awesome sound. (On the STi at least) - Quality materials. - Nice mid range and top end gains.

Weaknesses:
With the current design, the MAF wire is just too short. Instructions can be a tad more specific.

Review 5 of 12

Price Paid:  $200.00 from Special order at loc

Year / Model Reviewed:
98 Civic EX

Summary:
I installed this 1 week after cat-back exhaust. It seems to have helped with the low back-pressure caused by the cat-back. Noticable improvement above 4000, no low-end improvement. I love the sound, but it is loud. Install was EZ, but replacement hose from the valve cover to intake was too short.

Strengths:
Good improvement at high rpm, nice low pitched roar (for a honda). Easy install 20min. + 15min ride to parts store (aside from short hose)

Weaknesses:
One of the replacement hoses was too short and didn't fit well, but $2 at the parts store took care of that. Also, the mounting bracket is akward, the intake is held to the bracket by a hose clamp... stupid idea, but it works. It also pulls in air from behind the radiator. I'm gonna rig up a system to pull air from the stock airbox inlets. I don't think this thing would do much without exhaust done as well.

Similar Products Used:
I had a K&N on my old 300zx, it was worthless, but I didn't have a cat-back on that car
