Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $400.00 from Wheel Works

Year / Model Reviewed:
1999 GMC Yukon

Summary:
I bought a '99 Yukon last year which had "Performer GT" tires on it. I replaced them with the Yokohama Avid S/T's and what a difference! The ride is extremely smooth and quiet (even friends riding in the car commented on how nice it rides) and the handling is much improved. On center feel is much better too. I tow a travel trailer and the Avid S/T's handle the load well. I think these are excellent tires for heavier vehicles that are used mainly on the street.

Strengths:
Ride, quietness, handling

Weaknesses:
Front tires occasionally feel like they slip in very low speed corners (like in parking lots). This doesn't seem to have a negative impact on cornering though, it just feels strange through the steering wheel.

Similar Products Used:
Michelin X, Yokohama Avid Touring, Cooper Lifeliner Touring, Performer GT

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $100.00 from 100

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001/ AVID V rated

Summary:
As much as I enjoy Yokahama Tires. These did not do the trick for my Homda S2000. For rain the work well. ond for straight line acceleration they are great too. However on the turns, they are less desireable. I lost the rear end twice in less then a week. Both times were on high speed lane change, apx65 mph. They never really seem to heat up. At high speeds 70mph+ they wabble. I tried adjusting tire pressure, however it made no difference.

Strengths:
Weather handling is great.

Weaknesses:
not sticky enough on twisty roads.

Similar Products Used:
potenza S02, Toyo Proxies.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $66.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 74 Datsun 260z

Summary:
Great everyday tire! Handles corners pretty well for its price range. But you'll fall in love with them when it rains. I also run Avids on my wifes Mercedes. I bought them as snow tires for my Z. There the best bad weather tires I have ever used. With these tires I nolonger have to change my driving habits when driving a 2600lb. rear wheel sports car with a high performance motor, in the rain. That sayes alot! gread tread wear too. I run 225/60/14 .

Strengths:
Rain, Snow, Price, Odd Sizes, Tread Wear

Weaknesses:
Off the Line Traction

Similar Products Used:
Dunlop D60, BF Goodrich Comp T/A, Cooper Tires Cobra, Goodyear EAGLE
