Strength:

Very good traction tire that is awesome off-road and not at all scary or too noisy on the road. Excellent on snow, wet roads, rock, gravel, firm sand. Good on ice and mud. Very thick, tough sidewalls. Comfortable on the road.

Weakness:

Limited availability (usually must special order unless you go to a place that specializes in work trucks) and limited sizes. Can pick up gravel due to the deep tread but not as bad as many.

I have used these tires for over 30 thousand miles and still have half the tread. They are reasonably quiet on the road and never wander like some mud tires will. I have several thousand miles off-road experience with them in which I have seen them outperform all other tires, on similar vehicles, in all conditions except one, mud. In deep, slimey, mud these tires are not as good as mud tires, especially super swampers, but are much better than the other so-called all-terrain tires.
If you are not an off-roader, these tires would be very good for construction workers, farmers or someone who lives in an area with lots of muddy gravel roads or has to drive on snow and ice. The tires will accept studs for those places that they are legal. With two winters of use I have found that their traction is good even on glare ice without studs. But I run narrower tires than most, which gives me more pressure on the ground surface.
I will definitely buy them again and can not give them a high enough reccomendation as a tire to use on your truck or SUV that will get used off-road or in foul weather.

Similar Products Used:

Wrangler AT, Firestone ATX, Yokohama Super Digger and Michelin 4x4. There is no comparison. Those tires don't even come close off-road and several were even poor on the road. The trac-edge is an awesome, truly all-terrain, tire.
