Strength:

The tire has great traction and handles water very well. Throw it into turns and it sticks. I needed a tire to stop the hydroplaneing on my roadster. The RE 730 handles well at high speeds and is predictable in it's handling charateristics. The factory tire got 14K and was like new. I have driven 25K on these tires and have over half the tread remaining.

Weakness:

I drive with the top down so I really don't hear noise. They develope a set in them on cold days which goes away as they heat up. Once up to temp they are ready for action.

These tires are mounted on a M Roadster and have to handle the heavy front. I check the pressure monthly and keep them in a garage so the elements really are not a factor. I read the noise complaints and being a little older have to laugh. I purchased the "Z" rating for performance/safety. I realize the suspension is excellent in the Roadster, however it demands an excellent tire to grip the road when cornering and enjoying a nice road. I have been surprised how stickey these tires really are. I know now where I can break them and they always handle the same. For the money they are a steal. I will replace them with another Bridgestone tire when these wear out. I hope they haven't changed the grip in the newer lines. PS they work fine at 160!

I had a set of Dunlop's on it from the factory. I was looking at headlights one rainy night on the interstate. I took them off and put on the Bridgestones. Has not happened since. No I didn't wreck, but two spins at night was enough to get my attention. That is the stuff the younger drivers need to do.

Strength:

I've put 30K plus on the tires and they still have plenty of tread but the noise will cause me to sell them now.

Weakness:

Noise

Kind of noisy when first purchased but noise has grown to point that I have to sell them or go crazy with the loud buzzing sound they now make on the road. Even at low speeds they are annoying but a 70 mph they have a resonance that will drown out even the loudest radio.

I'm 60 years old so I've put hundreds of thousands of miles on all sorts of tires on many different cars. Never had such a tire noise problem on any of them.

Strength:

Decent traction.

Weakness:

NOISE LEVELS are terrible.

These tires have decent traction in all weather wetness but are the NOISIEST tires I have ever experienced. I thought my car was having bearing problems or something. I don't think I'd ever buy them again because a quiet ride is why I purchased the Honda Accord. The original Michelin tires that came on the car were absolutely silent so this makes my ride very disappointing now. I will not buy them again.

Strength:

Great dry weather traction, excellent stick and manuverability. Holding up well to hard driving.

Weakness:

Poor wet weather performance, too easy to break loose. Just park the car if it is icy or snowing. Gets louder with time, so turn up the radio and don't expect to have a conversation with your passenger on the interstate.

OK tire, but expensive for what you get. A good performance tire for dry conditions, but not a good choice if you value a quiet civilized ride.

Strength:

Wear resistance, cornering (feel and grip), wet ability (it's better with the newer UNI-T QII's though)

Weakness:

Definite noise on this particular bridgestone model - all others are quiter than any other brand except michelin, but then you have to fork out some serious dough to the french for those...

Noise shows up on cheap cars with no floor sound deadening, but it's the old tread style so go figure - got them almost free, wouldn't buy them new as they are definitely last year's model: newer bridgestone RE's with UNI-T AQII put all others to shame - Hold better than Yokos and Pirellis with 1/3 to 1/2 less wear, stick like crazy in the rain (yokos would spin, pirellis would spin, don't even think about it with others), and give a good steering feel. As far as snow, we don't get it down south much, but what kind of an idiot drives using non-M/S tires in the snow?!? Oh, yes that's right, the kind that also buys a Ford product made on a chasis dating to 1973 when I was born...

NOISY, rough riding, and do not handle well at all in snow. have to drive like a grandma...

Bridgestone Potenza RE730 Tires. Don't bother, NOISY and useless in the least bit of snow. Have had car in shop twice checking for rear end noise, bearings, axel problems, nothing wrong with the car, it's the tires! Have 15,000 miles on them now. They are so loud they overtake the sound of my new stainless pipes! Would not recommend to anyone. Going in tomorrow for a tire rotate to see if it might help.

Great traction in all weather conditions

Weakness:

NOISE and uneven pavement(like any freeway!!)

Great tire in the rain. I should know I live in Washington. But, very jumpy on uneven pavement and NOISY. Did I put that in caps.... I have never had tires this loud. I as others on this thread just left the shop. Sounded like bearings or the tire rubbbing. I selected "id buy it again" but they gotta improve on the products weaknesses just a little.

Great all-weather tire! Sticky while still lasting extra long for a tire of this performance class. This is the perfect alternative to the slightly more expensive Firestone Firehawk.

Crazy loud tire. TREAD SEPARATES!!!

Here is my story: About 2 Years ago I bought 4 Bridgestone Potenza RE-730's. Decent tires I thought.... When I had the tires put on they scratched my wheels to hell so they replaced them all. So 2 years later and 15k miles, I have a leak in my tire. I take it to a shop to get it patched. The tech informs me that the tire cannot be patched due to the "TREAD SEPARATING." I proceed to the Bridgestone/Firestone store. I show them my tire, explain my situation, etc... Then they tell me that they cannot do anything for me because I did not buy the Road Hazard warranty. So I tell them thats crap because it's clear that the tire is deffective since no others have done that and it's not consistent with the rest of the tire. So I remind him of a similar problem concerning Explorers and tread separation. Next comes out this older guy, sales person, saying that my alignment caused it and they cant do anything for me. That's a total crock ! While I am getting their information of their Regional manager comes out, a tech comes up to the counter looks at my tire and says "This shouldnt be happening. Alignment would never cause this." Now I know i'm getting the run-around because I didnt buy their Road Hazard warranty and they still refuse to help me, so I leave and get me a Toyo T1-S.

Strength:

Rain and overall grip. Plus a nice look/thread pattern.

Weakness:

Very noisy and very fussy on less than perfect road surfaces.

I had run with Bridgestone touring tires in the past and found them to give a very comfortable ride with reasonable performance. I was expecting an upgrade to high perfomance Z rated tires to be very positive. The result was underwhelming. These are nice looking tires. Grip is more than adequate, performance in the rain is excellent. Unfortunately, the roads up in my neck of the woods are far from racing track perfect and these tires tend to follow any rut and crack in the road. Tire noise after 6 months of wear is significant to the point that I had my wheel bearings checked (twice since I wouldn't believe my garage that the tires could be that noisy). I will opt for Yoko's or Toyo's next (I may not even wait for these to wear out).
