Price Paid:  $100.00 from Just Tires

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Dunlop Mud Rovers

Strengths:
Quiet on the road

Weaknesses:
Soft side wall, soft tread, not pucture resistant, wear quickly, not a very effective off road tire

Summary:
Dunlop Mud Rovers: I have a 97 wrangler- I use it as it should be used and expect a tire to hold up to what I need it to do- the Dunlop Mud Rovers were a disapointment from the very first time out - with numerous side wall and tread punctures and a flat on every single trip out I can say that if you are into any type of off road driving these will not do! I had 4 replaced due to unrepairable sidewall damage and at least 4 plugs in each tire from small sticks and twigs. I tossed the tires and purchased BF Goodrich Mud tires, 35's, and have put them through much more than the dunlops ever saw and have had not one problem with them. I do not recommend Dunlops and anyone who does I'd guess is not a hard core off road user. For the street they may be a nice tire but if you wheel - Pass these up. I only rate them a two because I put tires through some very tough trails and I need something I can depend on- For a on road car that may see some light off road- fire road type stuff, it may be ok.

Price Paid:  $98.00 from Sam's club

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Dunlop Mud Rover

Strengths:
Good traction off road Low price

Weaknesses:
Noisy Soft sidewall made truck a little unstable on road Weak construction - 3 tires failed after only 12,000 miles. Noisy on road - like any mud terrain

Summary:
Bought the tires after reading several reviews of the Dunlop Mud Rovers. The tires provided great traction off road, but 3 out of 4 tires failed after only 12,000 miles. I will not buy Dunlops again

BG Goodrich AT - great tires Michelin LTX - also a good tire, but not as good as the BFG ATs

Review 5 of 5

Strengths:
Great looking tire. Handles great in the Mud, Rocks, Snow and Ice. Long lasting; I have put 58,000 miles (mostly on the hiway) on the set I currently have and still have enough tread left to feel comfortable enough to go off-roading without the worry of getting stuck in the mud. Never had a problem with the tires clogging up in the mud. I have never had a flat in four years.

Weaknesses:
Same as every Mud tire I have owned. Poor traction on painted pavement.

Summary:
Paid $204 four years ago for two 31 x 10.50/15 tires. If your looking for a Mud Tire that will last and performs the best when you need it. You can't go wrong with the DUNLOP MUD ROVER.

Similar Products Used:
BF Radial Mud only last for about 30,000.
CO-OP Grip Spurs only last for about 25,000.
