Review 2 of 15

Price Paid:  $450.00 from Pep Boys

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Taurus

Summary:
I have been using Ultra Z's for the past 5 years. I love how predictable the tire is when cornering. It will always let out a deep howl, letting me know the tire is about at its limits. I look at this as a safety feature many HP tires do not have. Braking performances is supurb, along with cornering. Acceleration could be better. Treadwear is about 5,000 miles less than the Furura GTX tires. I average 18,000-25,000 per a set this is about normal for this style of tire. Sure I can get tires that last 80,000 miles, but why?

Strengths:
Cornering,Braking, looks

Weaknesses:
Acceleration

Review 3 of 15

Price Paid:  $536.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
1991 Camaro Z-28

Summary:
You get what you pay for,a cheap tire.I needed a cheap tire fast and found them at pep-boys.I never pushed the tires to the extream,I didn't want a blow out in a tight curve going fast.I've should have known the off-brand tire would give me bad performance.I've had to balanced these tires every three months and it still didn't help. These tires are bad in the rain. Save you money and get some name brand tires, there made by Cooper tire. Once again, save for a name brand tire.

Strengths:
Good price, thick white smoke during burn outs

Weaknesses:
Slides in the rain, fear of a no-name brand tire.

Review 4 of 15

Price Paid:  $610.00 from pep boys

Year / Model Reviewed:
 95 z28

Summary:
it kind of depends what you want. i put 255-50-16's on the fronts and backs (stock was 245-50-16) and there is a difference. they hold the road just fine but the response is noticably different. i prefer the tightness of the 245 with a stiff sidewall. when i turn the wheel i want to feel it right now. the futura doesnt do that. the 255 has a slightly higher profile so the reaction is a tiny bit slower. this is a small difference so if you don't care than save yourself the cash and buy them. if you want conering response right now then stay with the 245 and a more exspensive tire (bfg, mich, goodyear). to be fair i don't know how the futura 245 feels. it might give what i was hoping for.

Strengths:
inexspensive Z rated tire

Weaknesses:
side wall gives away some conering stiffness

Similar Products Used:
goodyear eagle, bfg.
