Year / Model Reviewed:
2007 uniroyal long touring
They do apparently last forever. These appear to be 5 year old tires, with about 65,000 miles on them, and the rear set still looks new. they are weather cracked from age, but still have lots of tread, and the front set even still passes inspection.
LOUD!!! These tires make me INSANE. Though they are good for at least another year, I'm buying a new set of 4 just to get rid of the noise. I was convinced that either my rotors were grinding or my wheel bearings were going out. It took two seperate mechanic's opinions to convince me that it was just tire roar. the noise actually got worse after I rotated the "better" set to the front of the car.
Cheap is NOT better. These are not a "true" Uniroyal tire anyway. they are manufactured elsewhere, then labeled as uniroyal for sale by uniroyal as a cheap long lasting "entry level" tire. they are sold only at walmart as far as I know.
I sell and install shop equipment, including tire machines and balancers, so i have loads of tire knowledge and experience with multiple brands and styles of tires.
Stay away from these tires unless you want to drive around with your radio blasting, turned all the way up just to avoid the noise.
