Ground Control Coil Overs Coil Over Suspension

Ground Control Coil Overs Coil Over Suspension

DESCRIPTION

This system allows you the option to customize the ride height of your vehicle. Unlike other spring kits that require removal of the strut assembly, the unique design of the Ground Control kit allows for quick, easy adjustment. Simply lift the corner(s) to be adjusted and spin the adjuster up or down to raise or lower the vehicle. Ground Control spring kits are designed to be used with either stock or aftermarket shocks.

Strength:

I got custom rate springs

front 450
Rear 350

Rides awesome
NOT stiff smooth feels like stock
only time it feels hard is on bad roads... but no different then on stock car.
Turns/corner awesome hugs them
call them for custom rates they'll tell you what's best for your daily use or purpose
only coilovers i will buy from now on... custome rate

Weakness:

i don't like the screw/tighten system it has no torque to make sure it's tight enough

i called asked they say just tight?
over tight and mess up the threads
i would like the double sleeve system tighten both together and it won't move.
the sleeve messes up if you don't have rubber bands in the shocks.

i will be trying their custom spring rates w/other coilover sleeves because it has the double sleeves to insure it's placement

bigger drop then most product.
perch and springs are very strong.
easy install.
reasonable price.
great look.

Weakness:

there are room for improvements
but cant think of anything at the moment

i believe ground control is one of the better coilovers i have found. besides the full suspension packages that you see tiens come out with. i dont think this product is pricey at all, actually very reasonable. i had skunk2's before i actually went out and bought ground control. and by far ground control has a better ride, bigger drop, thus giving you a better look overall. my skunks2's were weak, the perch was bent within a month, the springs left my ride very bouncy. i had horrible camber problems, until i bought ground control with spc adjustable camber kits. overall rating for this product is
AAAAA+++++

and install was very easy, didnt have to cut or weld anything.

Strength:

Solid well engineered product except rate and leingth.

Weakness:

Cost, no helper spring and spacer, spring leingth and rates blew.

The product is wellmade I havent had any real problems with it other than the fact that the springs that came stock were too short and the rate was way too soft. Also there was no provision for coil leingth take up when they were not adjusted to full height. I ended up buying new coils to fit properly in a rate that was compatable for my application. I also had to buy Eibach HELPER 250 and SPACER 250 for each corner to deal with the take up problem. It seems that these are made primarily for the ricer slam it to the ground crowd. I bought them to enable me to adjust corner weights and increase the spring rate.

This is the second set of GC coilovers I have had . My first set was on a 99 Civic Si . I think that these coilovers work perfect for many conditions . I use them mostly to drop it in the summer and raise it to close to stock height in the winter . I have read some reviews that say they squeak or rub ? I have never experienced any squeaking or rubbing on either car ? I would recommend buying a camber kit though . Once you go lower than about 2" my rear wheels start tilting in pretty bad .

Everything they claim to be. Smooth ride great handleing and a nice look.

Weakness:

Nothing.

A++ coilover sleeves. I rode on 16" wheels with 215/40/16 tires and the stock set of wheels and tires, and have them paired with KYB GR2 struts. I ride on all types of roads. Normal highway, pothole infested highway, normal streets, pothole infested streets, and my friends gravel driveway. These coilovers give me a close to stock smooth ride and a great look. The handleing is perfect for me, but I can't really compare that to anything. I believe my tires suck and hold back the full capabilities of my suspension. If you are concerned about a smooth ride like I was, this setup on my car couldn't ride better.

-Great Control -Nice look -No bouncing like ghetto peeps -Adjustability if your threaded body is screwed like mines.(mine is permanently lowered....i can't go back up)

Weakness:

-Threaded body gets eaten by the spring. -fairly expensive -Need camber kit or it will damage the threaded body therefore damaging the product.

hmm first of all, these are great coilovers. they don't bounce that much. i am using them with Tokico Illuminas. i set them to 5 at first and it turns similar to 3. maybe i'm not going fast enough. anyways, they are a little bit pricy and i don't think they are worth it. IF you BUY these COILS, Please DO yourself a favor and buy CAMBER KIT for front and back if you plan on dropping your ride alot. i had to raise my car due to the threaded body(the red thing that the perches adjust on) has been scraping against the SPRING!!!!! it has pretty much shreaded some of the threads :(. At first it was the back only, but now it is the front too. I'm sure it has something to do with the camber because only 1 side of the threaded body gets affected.

Weakness:

Can be a little weird or some sounds might coem our

This to my opinion is a great product. Ive had them on for awhile and i think there great. There adjustability is great. up to 3 inches i believe. I have my car all dropped low. Not to low though, but i do rub on the fender when the steering wheel is turned all the way. The ride is not bad. Ive seen worse!! Believe me. Better then cut springs. Directions werent the best. THis was a self install, took about 5 hours. Remember, ive never done this before, and i did a pretty good job. Overall, a good buy

you can lower your car for races on weekends and raise it on weekdays for normal use. it gave my car a really nice look with it slamed to the ground. no rubing from the tires either.

Weakness:

when yer tooo low youll scrape the ground.

good combo with a set of tokico premium shocks. i dumped the car 4 inches on a 91 integra LS. it looked great but felt a lil bumpy, so i raised it about 2 in. and it felt less bumpier. now all the weight is not on the coilovers, the shocks were doin there job and made the ride a smoother.

I have them set up with neuspeed/koni shocks and they work great. You have to have the special adapters if you pair them with Konis or you're asking for trouble. The guys at Ground Control were really helpful. They'll match you up with a set for whatever your application, mine was spirited daily driving, if you know what I mean. I've had no problem with them squeaking since I had them installed. I live in the NYC area so potholes, sewer grates can be a little rough, but I figure that is the trade-off. The ride is a little rougher than stock with the Konis set to there softest setting. The highways and parkways are phenomenal though with a 1.5" drop all around and firm setting on shocks. I can't say how they will work on any other car or with a different set of shocks, but my setup rules. So if you're into performance handling and like the ability to adjust your ride height I definitely recommend the Ground Control coilovers springs. YOU CAN HAVE MY GROUND CONTROL COILOVERS/NEUSPEED KONIS WHEN YOU PRY THEM FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS.

COILOVERS WERE INSTALLED ON FACTORY STRUTS WITH MINIMAL MODS FOR FIT. AFTER A VERY DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE WITH DROPZONE LOWERING SPRINGS, I PONIED UP FOR WHAT I THINK IS THE BEST COILOVER PRODUCT AROUND. MY MAXIMA HAS A VERY AGESSIVE LOOK, 2.75 DOWN IN THE FRONT AND 2.25 DOWN IN THE REAR. COMBINED W/ Z-RACING WHEELS AND FALKEN ZIEX 502 TIRES, IT STICKS TO THE GROUND AND CORNERS FLAT OUT. NO ALIGNMENT WAS NEEDED AS THE CAR TRACKS PERFECTLY STRAIGHT AND DOES NOT PULL OR PUSH. IT DOES ROCK YOU UP AND DOWN ON A BUMPY ROAD BUT WHAT TO HECK, IT AINT STOCK SO I PUT UP WITH IT. GREAT PRODUCT!! THE SAYING GOES "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR". THESE ARE WORTH IT.
