$195.00 Year / Model Reviewed: 2000 Honda Civic Si Summary: These springs lowered my ride height by about 1.25-1.5", as advertised. The drop is PERFECT. It looks great, but there is no rubbing, and it doesn't have the slammed look with the tops of the tires tucked behind the fenders. Comptech uses a SLIGHTLY higher spring rate on the driver side to eliminate the natural lean to that side.
The performance improvement is great. I've never driven on a performance suspension before, and it is amazing. I have them paired up with KYB AGX adjustable shocks and am able to adjust between an almost-stock (but more controlled) ride to rough-and-tough full-on race mode. These springs do a wonderful job of keeping the tires in contact with the road surface, which, as any real enthusiast can tell you, is the real job of the suspension.
My suspension setup is currently the Comptech springs, KYB AGX dampers, and a 19mm Suspension Techniques rear anti-roll bar, with 205/50/15 Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 tires on stock rims. Everything seems to be playing together PERFECTLY. I even got to test it out at an autocross the day after installation. It felt fantastic.
BTW, you can get an even better deal than I did at www.speeddistributors.com Strengths: Dramatically reduced body roll. CONTROL! Point the nose where you want to go, and get on the gas! Increased speed through tight corners, highway ramps, chicanes, you name it. Less nosedive on braking and squatting on acceleration. Beautiful looks with the lowered stance. Weaknesses: These will certainly earn me a reckless driving ticket if I don't maintiain a high level of self control. Similar Products Used: I have driven my friend's Si with Eibach Pro-kits and Tokico Blues. I do like my ride a little more. That partly due to the adjustable shocks I bought and probably also because this is mine, so it MUST be better. :-)
