We wanted to see exactly what's involved with producing one of the most, if not the most popular aftermarket cold-air intake systems on the market. AEM had the answer: extensive research and testing. Their forumla seems to be working as their intake system was rated #1 by our users for the year 2000. Their cold-air system is available for all popular import and domestic sport compact applications. AEM also develops brake systems, adjustable cam gears, pulley kits, and performance fuel systems.

Company profile:
Horsepower. It's how our reputation was built. In 1987, AEM opened its doors and quickly earned a reputation for its custom fabrication work and ability to develop the fastest vehicles at racetracks across the country. As the import performance market began to grow, our company's success in both of these areas ultimately led to AEM's production of products for the import performance arena-long before it was the popular thing to do.

Today, AEM is dedicated to the design, research, development and manufacturing of the highest quality performance products for the sport compact car market. All of AEM's products are CAD designed and undergo extensive testing for performance and reliability. Although our company has advanced beyond its tuner shop roots, AEM maintains a visible presence at racetracks across the country through engineering and sponsorship commitments with import drag racing's best teams. This assures our customers that AEM's products are not only proven through dyno-testing, but through real world testing as well. But don't take our word for it. Our products are consistently put to the test by various automotive publications including Motor Trend, Turbo, Import Tuner, Sport Compact Car, Grassroots Motorsports, TMR, Import Racer, Honda Tuning, Super Street and Max Speed. In the end, the results of these independent tests are always the same-our products consistently outperform the competition.

We'd like to thank Lawson at AEM for giving us the tour and answering all of our questions.
