Price Paid:  $799.00 from Staff Purchase $AU

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 MRV-F545

Strengths:
*Actual power on my amp is 170.6 Watts RMS x 4 *Good looks *Very versatile (rear channel bridged gives 600 Watts RMS)

Weaknesses:
*Digital display only shows 25Hz intervals when adjusting cross over points. *Gain control doesn't have enough adjustment increments. *Designed to work best only with other alpine products!

Summary:
I work at a car audio store, so I had the choice of any product I wanted! Why did I choose alpine? Most probably because of the "Name"! So far I’m very pleased with it. It gives out plenty of power and a very clean and pleasant sound. I'm running 'Type R' Splits and 2 x 10" 'Type S' subs with very good results. I’m going to be adding a Cap to the system to keep the power up to the amp for better bass response but if I wasn't a perfectionist I wouldn't bother! I'm making good use of the 4 gauge power input. And I’m taking full advantage of the bridged rear output that’s giving me around 600 Watts RMS. All in all, I’ve sold many of these amps and the results are usually fantastic. Not an amp for the person on a budget, but well worth the money. For any one after perfection, this is not by any means the best amp out there, but it probably is for the price! I can't wait to hear the new Eclipse amps though. (Not out yet in Australia)
