Price Paid:  $200.00 from audio plaza

Strengths:
tweets sound alright.

Weaknesses:
The middbass sucks.

Summary:
i bought these to upgrade my camaros stock speakers.I dont really like these speakers.I only listen to rap and with rap you need lots of bass.i have a 10 sub that hits low but since these dont have good midbass i feel like theres something missing in my jams. The highs are good though. They wont damage your ears.i wouldnt recommend to anyone that listents to hip hop. They rattle and sound nasty.

Price Paid:  $100.00 from Circuit City

Year / Model Reviewed:
 95 Honda Civic 2dr Coupe

Strengths:
Directional tweeeters express nice highs and woofer cone supplies rich, resounding bass.

Weaknesses:
None so far

Summary:
I''ve had my Infinitys for almost a month now and have had a real good experience with them. Before buying them, I compared them to Polk''s EX602A and Boston Acoustic''s FX6. I''ve heard so much about Boston Acoustic being one of the best there is, but when I listened to them at Ultimate Electronics against the 652i, the Infinity won over, and the sales clerk had to agree with me. Piercing highs and clear, responsive lows. I''m not an expert on car audio but these sound REALLY good. They fill every inch of the car with full, rich music. I have a pair of Pioneer TS-A1666 3-ways (weak bass) in the front and these make a good combination of highs and the Infinity''s lows. I''ve read negative reviews on the 652is, but could not find anything in that price range that sounded better. I have yet to test their durability. I''m not big on loud music so I expect they should last. Excellent product. I would definitley recommend them to a friend, they brought a smile to my face.

Price Paid:  $100.00 from crutchfield

Strengths:
good midrange and spacious highs(a little too sharp when turn up volume)

Weaknesses:
weak bass, can be blown easily at high volume.

Summary:
Overall, these speakers doesn''t sound like a high quality speaker. If you just want to buy some speaker that sounds a little better than your factory speaker, they would do the job for you. However, if you want to create a good sound system, don''t put these speaker on your list.

Review 4 of 6

Price Paid:  $100.00 from Circuit City

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000

Strengths:
Sound

Weaknesses:
Poorly made. Fragile. Will not last. Quality stinks. CS stinks. Infinity''s integrity stinks. Paid waaayyy too much for JUNK that stinks!

Summary:
Frankly, I''m disappointed. I bought two pairs of the Infinity Reference 61/2 speakers a year ago and two weeks, and thought I was buying a quality product from a respected car audio manufacturer! However, I''ve discovered that I bought JUNK! I put one pair in the rear deck of my Prelude and in less than 10 months they started cracking (due to the sun) and eventually CRUMBLED TO PIECES (melted). In other words, the woofer is no longer....Let''s say I was very surprised and ticked! I even have tinted windows, screens over the speakers, and park under trees at home and work. So, I decided to call about the one-year warranty on the speakers and discovered a typical 1-800-TALK-TO-THE-MACHINE line. I did everything I could to get their attention (faxes, letters etc) and NOTHING worked. No one contacted me about the issue. Their integrity stinks! I will not buy another pair of speakers from them and I will avoid purchasing any other Infinity products in the future. I know Infinity has produced some great stuff for the price in the past, but how can you help being burned. I can''t be the only one out there that this has happened to. I hope my front door Infinity''s never see the sunlight! Trust me, I''m a music enthusiast. I like my car audio to sound great, loud, crisp and punchy. I had what I wanted until about two months ago. Now I have Infinity Reference 61/2s in the doors (JUNK), Polk 61/2s in the rear, brand new Sony receiver, and 2 8s for my sub. Now I''m happier and it even sounds better!

Review 5 of 6

Strengths:
very very clean and spacious for the money, but they should be high passed, high power handling for coaxials

Weaknesses:
to use their full power handling, they must be high passed

Summary:
paid 150 a pair from crutchfield. having never listened to any real high end stuff (eg MB Quart) I have to say that these are some of the best car speakers I've ever heard. the angled, swiveling tweeter does wonders for improving imaging and high-end detail when the speakers are mounted in less than ideal locations. when used full range, they're pretty wimpy on bass, but I think they were designed to be used in a high passed application. and when they are, boy do they sound sweet.

kicks the crap out of pioneer, thats for sure...
