Review 2 of 8

Price Paid:  $150.00 from local pawnshop

Year / Model Reviewed:
 alumapro alchemy 10

Strengths:
good sound quality but not for theprice.and they require a small box.

Weaknesses:
not as loud as i expected for the mney i payed but it's o k i guess.

Summary:
i had these subs for 2 months and they sucked compared to my fiends two jbl loud and clear 12's and i dont know how because mine is 200 watts mmore power so i am planning on saling it for 200 and gettin me some jbl's because they ar way cheaper and way louder. bythe way i power them with a 300/2watt sony explode amp.

Similar Products Used:
jbl loud and clear 12's-jbl's were cheapr and louder and lower. mtx 3000-almpro kicks it's ass with quality bt thats what you'd expect from a mor expensive sub. over all they are okay not great.

Review 3 of 8

Price Paid:  $200.00 from Audio Designs

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001/Alchemy

Strengths:
Sound great. Power-efficient. No one can believe their 10's..

Weaknesses:
Get SLIGHTLY distorted at very very high volumes (topping out my Alpine deck) on a bad song.

Summary:
I love these subs. I got them on special in a J&F Custom Pro Bandpass box. Two 10" alchemies pushed by a Phoenix Gold 500W amp thunders my competition. I had to cut porting between my 6x9's to give more room for the air to go, otherwise it was blowin out my weather stripping. I highly recommend these power-efficient great sounding subs.

Similar Products Used:
JL 15's - keeps up wit them (and their 10's) Alpine type S's - rips em up

Review 4 of 8

Price Paid:  $175.00 from friend''s hookup in

Strengths:
Very clean (until at loud loud situations). It hits a good range of sound. Compact. Loud for 1 10. Looks cool.

Weaknesses:
can be distorted at loud volumes. But this is 1 10, so I didnt expect it to be that loud.

Summary:
I have 1 of these in my car. I didn''t want to eat up my entire trunk. I didn''t want bass for every1 else to hear. And I didnt want to spend an arm and a leg for a subwoofer system. I got exactly what I wanted. This sub requires a very small box. It is very quiet from the outside. It is plenty loud on the inside. None of my passengers thought they were listening to ONE 10.

Similar Products Used:
eclipse, but it didnt sound as...good. Cant really explain it

Review 5 of 8

Price Paid:  $400.00 from ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1999/Alchemy

Strengths:
Subs took an absolute beating under excessive power bursts. Never once faltered in 2 years of constant beating. Very tough, very loud, very hard thumping. Hit over 150 dB on the two twelves.

Weaknesses:
I can''t say that I ever found one. These things poung like a dream!

Summary:
These are, by far, the best subs I have ever owned. I have won every competition I have ever entered in them, and for 2 12" subs, I never had better. I rocked over 150+ dB and pushed them hard for two years. Unfortunately, I powered them very hard for that whole time, and after much pounding, contstant beating, and much wear overall, the voice coils finally just melted on me. I was putting over 2000 Watts of power to them, and they took it well, but I was putting more than twice the recommended wattage, and they took it like champs. They blew a week ago, and I pulled them out today, but I will ONLY replace them with another set of the same. Alumapro is the best in the game!

Similar Products Used:
JL Audio''s 12W6 series are the closest I''ve come to this type of pound, but with a metal cone, dual 8ohm voice coil and ferro-fluid cooling, the Alchemy''s were far superior.
