Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $300.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000 Mazda Miata

Summary:
If you like this product, then buy it from a dealer who can install it - this is NOT for do-it-yourselfers like me. Working directly with Hoffman Automotive was a frustrating and annoying experience - avoid it at all costs. With so many other choices out there, I might just skip this product entirely so as to avoid any warranty or aftermarket hassle (with this customer un-friendly distributor).

Strengths:
Full featured system with all the bells and whistles....

Weaknesses:
Distributor is very unreasonable to work with (Hoffman Automotive Products) - 25% restock fee for ALL returns. They promote this product as an "easy to install kit with complete instructions and free tech support, suitable for the weekend mechanic". The fact was that the instructions were very vague, the kit entirely generic (not customized to my car) and their tech support wasn't even open on weekends (!). They are an industrial distributor, trying to cut-out their own retailers for direct biz, but are not equipped to work with the public - I'd avoid them for this reason alone. It cost me $75 (restocking fee, which was not negotiable, despite their false advertising) and an entire weekend to find this out!
