Price Paid:  $200.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 mx1300

Strengths:
massive power and long life reliabilty

Weaknesses:
with no cap you'll kill your car, clearity could improve slightly

Summary:
Bought this from a friend but knew how bad it was. it was previuosly pounding (and blowing up) 2 rockford fosgate power 15's the old ones this amp has been around. its about 5 years old now and the only trouble i have is figuring out what way i want to hook up my 2 soundstream dvc 1ohm 10's. been extreemly reliable so far and i have been putting it through its paces wide open at 1600w.only drawback is a slight bit of unclearity, but as long as your not in sq competitions your fine

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 mx-1300

Strengths:
looks good and performs as expected

Summary:
i've been lucky to have such a great setup installed in my vehicle. I've heard my friends sounds, whom have more power and larger investments. but my amp pushes my mean machine 12's with ease and blows away alot of the "wanna be's" autotek has so much more to offer, im gonna be upgrading my sounds to the mean machine mx 5000 and subs to match, let you know how it goes. 808 is the bomb state! tammy

Price Paid:  $640.00 from Frys (got employee d

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000 MX-1300

Strengths:
Power, power, power. Seems like a real solidly constructed unit. It looks really nice too. Made in the USA. I finally had it installed by an authorized dealer so I'm pleased I get the 3 year warranty. I would highly recommend them.

Weaknesses:
Power hungry compared to the new ones. It has 2 70 amp fuses. Manual says max current draw can go to 156 amps!

Summary:
Ok wow, I have this beast pushing 2 boston comp 15s and it is way too powerful for them. The bostons are 2ohms each and I had them wired in series to show the beast 4 ohms because even 1200 watts is more than they can handle. 1600 watts? Forget about it! The amp is tremendously powerful, clean, and awesome. I love it. I can't even imagine what the new Class X digital ones are like. All I can say is you better have some tough hi-power woofers for em because they are even more powerful than my class a/b one. I have an extra battery hooked into it and it still dims the lights a bit when the bass starts slammin. Can you say overkill? But for some of us that's a good thing.
