Price Paid:  $2700.00 from Brothers Performance

Year / Model Reviewed:
1997 BBK Eaton Roots 9 PSI

Strengths:
Right now...roots blower punch. All the torque at less than 2000 rpms. A small block..feels like a big block...really.

Weaknesses:
They don't make them anymore..! Parts are hard to find probably.

Summary:
In '97, I was building the baddest Fox body Stang for the road...ever. All the best parts at that time were used. Four wheel disc brakes, Tremec, X pipe with hipo cats, Flows, 3 core radiator, oil cooler, in car fuel/air readout, interior boost and fuel pressure gauges, big valve-high flow heads, F303 cam...you name it. I waited for the 9 PSI unit from BBK. It was slow coming out. I also ran a 3.08 gear, as BBK had suggested. Even then, the car had no problem lighting them up...in third gear. The Eaton roots blower...is the best. OEM quality and BBK engineered it to fit...right. It was just...a little too expensive for the centrifical supercharger guys. There loss...big time. So, it dissappeared off the market. Too bad, since I think it would sell now. I still have the car and the blower has only fragged one belt. Zero problems. Maximum fun. At 2100 rpms, the car does 82 mph and gets 26-27 mpg...with a/c. Performance is awesome. Low and second gear can be solid smoke, if you want. I love it.
Sounds like a formula car...when you enter the freeway off an on ramp. Very cool. Gus

I have a 9 PSI Powerdyne on another Fox body and it is a nice blower for the price. Very quiet. Not as savage as the BBK. Centrificals have to wind up.
