from Local tire store Year / Model Reviewed: 1993 Grand Cherokee Summary: Fairly decent tire. Great for sandy soil/gravel conditions. Not so great in mud (lots of clay around here) because they load up quickly and act like drag slicks. Look good when they're clean or dirty. Get good traction in rain or snow. quiet on the road. Strengths: Low Road Noise, good soft surface/snow traction, good looks. Weaknesses: High price! Cost $200 more than my old Cooper Discoverer STT's did! Weak in sticky gummy mud, don't have the longevity of the coopers (35k and 1/2 tread depth vs 35k @ 3/4 tread depth). Similar Products Used: Cooper Discoverer STT (My Favorite Yet)
Wild Country TXR (absolute junk, worn out in 15K)
Goodyear Wrangler A/T (Good in snow and rain, not so much offroad)
General Tire Grabber A/T (Good all-around tire. Jack of all trades with no outstanding qualities but no glaring bad ones either)
Why so many tires? 273K and counting, baby! Can't beat those 4.0 inline sixes!
