Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $299.00 from Good Guys

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Boston Acoustic RM9

Strengths:
Good imaging, clarity, no dropout spots in coverage. Nicely designed. Good compliment to the Boston ProSeries 6.5 component set.

Weaknesses:
Cost a bit much, but worth it.

Summary:
I compared these to 6x9 Infinity 3 way, Pioneer, Eclipse coaxial, JL Audio coaxial, and Sony 3 way speakers. This model is clearer and has better imaging and full range than the others I listened to. The sound is well balanced, does not have annoying "missing spots" in the range they reproduce. Impressive. The coaxial arrangement tends to be superior to 3 way designs as small speakers cannot adequately produce sound in 3 distinct ranges, and the two small speakers are a tweeter and "super-tweater" which tend to compromise the pereformance. The RM9's faithfully produce nice vocals and instruments with a pleasantly balanced range.

Similar Products Used:
Listened to models listed above. I have a nice home audio system as reference.

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $229.00 from Flanners Audio

Strengths:
Initial Sound, pretty nice. Easy to install.

Weaknesses:
Durability. I'd never buy these again. If you're considering it DON'T.

Summary:
Initial Impression - Very Good Sound. Impression after 12 months of use - PILE of JUNK. I'm very disappointed in the durability of this product. One of the tweeters is giving me a huge hissing sound - so now I'm looking for something else. I probably won't buy other BA products again because of this. Too bad, I've got the BA 6.53 in front, and like them, but I won't support a company that sells a products that fail just after warranty. I've had much cheaper speakers that lasted 5+ Years under much greater stresses.

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $250.00

Strengths:
They had good midbass, and they handled a lot of power.

Weaknesses:
They are expensive and not worth it. I bought a pair of pioneer 6x9's for 80 bucks and they were just as good. These speakers chupa mi verga. Only a 2-way? Come on, and they dont have a wide frequency range, only down to 35hz, kenwood excelons go down to 25hz for some deep base, and have a more solid midrange and cost about a hundred bucks cheaper.

Summary:
These are way overpriced. A 6x9 can only be so good. The best ive heard is a four way from pioneer.

Similar Products Used:
ive used excelons, pioneers, and sonys. They all sounded better except the sonys. sonys are the biggest pieces of sh@t i've ever heard.

Review 4 of 5

Strengths:
Its sound Quality, and price. ITs worth every Penny.

Weaknesses:
Nothing

Summary:
I got this for a bargin $185....Lists $300.
THis is the best 6X9 on the market. I am sending them 125 pure watts from a Soundstream Reference 700 (and thats @ 12 volts not 14.4!!!). These things are crystal Clear and have a little Kick to them. I have 2- 15" MTX's and on some songs cant notice them at all! These are a must have for any sytem that does not want to blow the $$ on components.

Similar Products Used:
Pioneer Preimere. Blows it out of the water.
