Price Paid:  $30.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 s-10.4

Strengths:
They don't blow easily and it is a well built sub.

Weaknesses:
Lacks some low end frequencies

Summary:
When I first got my car I needed some kind of bass so I bought ans s-10.4 and threw it in my trunk with the sub in a bass tube. It sounded like GARBAGE. I just threw it in the garage and left it there for a few months. After I blew my alpine type r's, this was my back up sub. I took my dads sealed box that he wasn't using and put the sub in it and put it back in the trunk. It sounds a lot better in the sealed box. I find it to be good for someone who is looking for a little bass. It is not a very loud sub. It also doesn't hit too low. The sound kind of disappears at certain frequencies. Another thing I find with this sub is it is not easy to blow. If you try to blow it then of course it will blow. But if you are over powering it then it should be able to take it. I had a 1200 watt amp with the gain all the way up going for about a minute and the thing didn't blow. My dad has 2 memphis 10 inch subs and they sound great. But they blow frequently without pushing them hard at all. He went through 3 pairs already. So if your not too crazy about bass and you want something small and cheap, then i would recommend this sub. But if your looking for ground pounding bass then this is deffinately not the sub for you.

Review 2 of 6

Price Paid:  $140.00 from crutchfield

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001

Strengths:
Alumanum Basket, 16mm of peak to peak excursion. Strong cones, very loud for there size, good for boomy, and sq bass

Weaknesses:
dont know never had any problems yet.

Summary:
I have on thing to say, never judge a sub buy the way it looks, when i ordered these i thought they looked very cheap, but belive me, there not. When i first took them out of the box and examined them, they are very well built. even thought they are paper they are strong, when i was putting them in my box, i triped and steped on one, putting over 160lbs on it, the cone didnt even tear, all i did was push in the dust cap. So i sent it back and got a new one. When i hooked them up i almost craped myself. My side mirrors were vibrating. I have 2 of these in a regular cab truck, in a type 1 box, they realy do POUND.

Review 3 of 6

Price Paid:  $65.00 from $129 for two from cr

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000

Strengths:
cheap, super sound on tight bass

Weaknesses:
couldn''t always go low.

Summary:
I had a ''96 Chevy full size regular cab.. If you have a regcab Chevy you know that the space is very limited. I bought two of em for $129 so how could i go wrong and pushed them with a 75X4watt Sony amp.. They sounded about like i expected. The amp was underpowered for what these could handle so i hooked them to a 600watt Jensen and they sounded teriffic for a cheap sub. They were good enough that i had them in the truck for about 4months before my truck gotten broken into and they got stolen.. I would recommnd these to anyone who wants a quality cheap sub.. for the price these rocked my face off

Review 5 of 6

Strengths:
Price, build quality

Weaknesses:
low bass extension

Summary:
I bought this from best buy for $80, which I thought was a pretty good deal, as it came in a good quality ported box. Cast aluminum is great for a sub in this price range. Installed the sub in my friend's Saturn Coupe, bass output was pretty good, but low end extension left something to be desired. This may be a function of the box design - possibly Cerwin Vega built the box for higher SPL with trade-off being bass extension.
