Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $230.00 from Alberts Hi-Fi Vic Pa

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Clarion APX200.2

Strengths:
Looks beautiful. Sounds so clear. Is so nice.

Weaknesses:
A bit warm. But its in a sealed boot next to my other 150W x 2 amp and my sub so not much airflow. Still its not hot.

Summary:
I have this amp bridged running my 12" Alpine type S sub, and it runs it a dream. Almost to powerful for the sub (200W RMS ). Anyway sounds very nice and it aint even turned up much.

Similar Products Used:
OzSound 350W Amp to drive one 12" Cruncher and same amp but on 150Wx2 for two 12" Cruncher subs.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $220.00 from Mad Man McKay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001

Strengths:
Great sound, while it lasted.

Weaknesses:
Only worked for half an hour. A local shop said the power output broke and went DC. As you can imagine this fried the sub it was hooked up to.

Summary:
I was really impressed with this amp when I first hooked it up. It gave a pretty good sound and was just what I was looking for to run one low power sub. Unfortunately, within half an hour of being installed I realized I could no longer hear any bass. I checked the amp and it was REALLY hot. So was the voice coil of the sub which had just been fried and is now stuck at maximum excursion. It was hot too. This amp was a replacement for a previous clarion amp that also died. Clarion's technical service with the first amp was horrible, they sent the amp back saying that it worked fine and included a wiring diagram. I tried this amp in several friends cars, and guess what? It still would not work. This time I'm going to try to get the store to give me a different brand of amp. I like my clarion head unit, but I'm going to stay away from their amps for quite awhile.
