Price Paid:  $209.00 from Internet Store

Year / Model Reviewed:
 DRX5575

Strengths:
great radio, easy to use

Weaknesses:
wont play cdrs and is very picky

Summary:
This cd player is junk. It's an excellent radio with the enhacer, but not a cd player. It would'nt play a brand new cd-r and is very picky of witch cds it will play. My old cd player that didn't even work was better because it didn't taunt me like this one

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $400.00 from Northfield

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000

Strengths:
4 channel pre-out is nice. I run a set of //////LPINE 6 inch coaxials in the front doors and the excellent //////LPINE SPR-692Bs on the rear tailgate (my car is a wagon). Running both these speakers is a clarion V-NET 450 amp. Can''''t argue with the sound quality this headunit puts out. Sweet, clear, crisp. Very easy to use too (except for the aforementioned clock).

Weaknesses:
Can be a bit picky with some CDs you try and play. The first track on nearly every CD skips like hell for the 1st minute or so. I don''''t know why it does this and I will soon get it fixed.

Summary:
Not a bad headunit at all. Managed to get $150 off it because it was a run out model. Remote control a nice bonus - keeps passengers in the back entertained. Z enhancer works pretty well too. Only I''''ve forgotten how to set the damn clock and my owners manual has gone walkabout.

This current setup is the first and so far only one I''''ve ever purchased. Sounds great! If any of you live in the Brisbane area, Northfield have a really good rep. No quibbles at all about the quali

Review 4 of 5

Price Paid:  $209.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000

Strengths:
This unit sounds unbelievable. A very powerful source unit that drives my Rockford Fosgate speakers like I've never heard before. I had a decent Kenwood deck which now resides in the trashcan where it belongs. I love the large display that looks great at night with a solid black backdrop, and the easy to use controls. The Z enhancer is a superb eq which saves you the time of fumbling around with the bass and treble controls. It supports two amplifier hookups which I am using to drive 4 10" Kickers. The magitune tuner far exceeds that of the kenwood I had previously and pulls in stations I never could before. An all around great bargain. Oh the remote control is just another bonus, especially when kicking it outside of the convertible and the neighbors start screaming, heh heh. This deck also supports mini and regular cd changers, what are you waiting for, buy it!!!

Weaknesses:
NONE AT ALL!

Summary:
Refer to above. All around the best buy in any car audio device I've ever purchased. Very easy to use, not so complicated like the eclipse and high end sony models that flash 12:00pm because you can never figure the darned things out. :o)

Kenwood cd deck, piece of trash, always in the shop, garbage!!!

Strengths:
This bad boy is easy to use and understand. It has good output and that remote is nice and easy to use also. It is an all around good deck for the price.

Weaknesses:
nothing

Summary:
I think all people new to car audio should at least look at it. It is great.
