Review 1 of 100

Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Nubira

Summary:
I bought this car on the same day my Husband wrecked my '93 Cougar. I LOVED THAT CAR! But,it was the first car I had ever purchased used so it seemed like it had cancer and everything was falling apart. The Nubira was much smaller and sportier and was set at a wonderul low cost. I liked the way it drove and putting 45miles each way on a commute I definitely enjoyed the comfort.

Strengths:
decent p/u (by using the power button) - easy dash controls - latch system for car seats - air bags - nice stereo - small enough you can reach across the entire car for emergencies - seats have great adjustment variations

Weaknesses:
a/c is hard to keep a consistent temp - horn sounds like a toy (I hid my face in shame yesterday using it for the first time)- cup holders aren't very realistic - cheap carpeting & seat covers - paint chipped already on the door lock - tiny scratches already visible from just 3 washes

Similar Products Used:
Chevy Chevette (not bragging), Dodge Colt (great little car), Chevy Cavalier (never had a problem), Mercury Cougar (awesome luxury, just worn out)

Review 3 of 100

Price Paid:  $15000.00 from Anderson Ford, Linco

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 Nubira

Summary:
I bought the car new, and after 11 months, I can honestly say it has spent as much time in the service garage as it has in my garage. Would probably be in the repair shop more often if it didn't take so long to get parts. Replaced the door handles (after a very deep cut to my finger), replaced the dash, replaced molding. Two times lost oil due to bad gasket on the drain plug. Now I have to put another 200 miles on it, so the service men can find out where my anti-freeze is going. After getting my notifacation of Daewoo going bankrupt, I called the dealer and they are standing behind the warranty. Just yesterday I got a safety recall: Nubira Front Brake Hose Replacement(noncompliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard) Hope they can resolve this problem when I take it back for the anti-freeze problem. This car is the new version of the Edsel. Should not have bought. Should have paid for a new paint job on my Chevy Corsica that is still going strong with over 100k on the odometer. Thank goodness, as I had to use it when the heater went out on the Nubira.

Strengths:
1. fast & zippy 2. looks great (looks like a high dollar BMW 3. Neat head lights 4. Good gas milage. Averaged 33 mpg in the Black Hills of South Dakota 5. Comfortable

Weaknesses:
1. Can't get parts 2. If I can't hear the horn, doubt anyone else can 3. Cheap door handles on inside 4. Dust/dirt collects in the door wells after a short distance of gravel roads

Similar Products Used:
Toyota, Datsun,Corsica as far as size. Should have stuck with the Chevrolets.

Review 4 of 100

Price Paid:  $11000.00 from Wyatt-Johnson Import

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 Daewoo Nubira

Summary:
I love my Nubie (as I've affectionately named her). I've gotten plenty of compliments on the style of the car, even though people are not familiar with the name. If you're willing to take a chance, this is a good chance to take. Bear in mind all vehicle manufacturers have to start somewhere, but Daewoo is off to a "fair to middling" start.

Strengths:
Decent gas mileage, very nice looking. Spacious trunk and interior, well placed knobs and controls. Comfortable seats...good for long rides, and low noise on the inside. Lots of options if you are one to "accessorize" a car to fit your personal style with rims, tint, detailing, etc.

Weaknesses:
Paint job is not the best. They must have skimped on the clear coat. Door handles on the front doors tend to peel (but they replace these at the dealership with no hassle). Tires/Rims are poor. Cause a bad vibration at the front end. Suggestion...wider rims and a good low to high end speed range alignment. Cupholders...everyone has a sense of humor. And the horn...a bit embarrasing. The Roadrunner "meep meep" is louder. Company relations are unsteady. Will I be able to get my Woo serviced in the future...who knows!!

Similar Products Used:
Honda Civic, Mercury Tracer, Ford Contour, Toyota Tercel. (all of which had problems "in the beginning"

And after I bought it I notice the front tiers were not the right size and two diffrent brands. I will never buy a daewoo are a car from that dealership.

Strengths:
I never had to fix the radio.

Weaknesses:
everything; even the rear view mirror
