Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Digital Designs Fact

Summary:
First off, i want to make this fair. The previous review by hispls is obviously a batch of unresearched lies. The company is based in Oklahoma City where I purchased my DD9515 while stationed at Tinker AFB, OK. The subs are HAND MADE and are only sold by a handful of select retailers because... they're HAND MADE. Audiobahns are NOT. I purchased my speaker well before Audiobahn became a household name (not saying they weren't around) and DD had 5+ records in the IASCA record books in 2000. Try checking out the IASCA site. However I am not commenting on this gentlemen's personal experience, because i didn't own this exact model. But i would doubt the credibility if he doesn't even know where the speaker originated from, or it's suggested enclosure design, which is ported. Check the website at www.ddaudio.com for proof.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $109.00 from Wholesale catalugue

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 dd 15"

Strengths:
Preform well in small sealed box, good bang for buck. They're nothing amazing, but if you build a good tight box, and throw them 300-600 watts CLEAN power, they'll do pretty nice.

Weaknesses:
Shoddy chinese manufacturing. Had to return a couple duds for warranty. Also the vented box would require about 4.5 cube just to accomodate a proper port size, so running these ported is out of the question.

Summary:
DD is Audiobahn with different logo. I picked them up for short money when they were first coming out. I had a couple blow up real quick (probably duds, since the replacements they sent have been going for years now).

I have 4 of these running off of a couple kicker 1200 watt mono blocks, in appx 1.25 cu/ft sealed. They are pretty linear and do move some air.

For the price they're pretty good. A lot of people talk about what subs are good or bad, and 90% of it is in the install. Whatever speaker you buy have someone who knows what they're doing build a box and install them.

Another thing to consider is the car you put them in. I've had these in a different car and they sounded completely different both in loudness and response in the same size box, and even depending on which way you point them in the trunk.

Similar Products Used:
This compares to JL W0, MTX (entry level), Audiobahn (same company), and pretty much a dozen other chinese made subs. It's like there's 2 factories in China that make all these subs and they're pretty much all the same. Shop for price and make sure you have room for a proper box. If you want to get into high end sound, buy something made in the USA.
