Summary:
In responce to the guy that says he almost gave his grandma a heart attack:

I just wanted to say how nice it is that your parents let you install your imaginary stereo system in their car. Maybe when your old enought to have your drivers license they will let you cruise in it?!? Well...something to look forward too I suppose.

P.s.: your an a$$

Review 3 of 33

Price Paid:  $600.00 from Northfield

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 eclipse titanium 15DVC

Strengths:
the lowest and deepest most evil bass that a sub woofer can deliver. This woofer is a beast, truely devastating violent bass are what you will get.

Weaknesses:
Professional subs require hard core power source. Big batteries, big clean wiring and massive amps with regulated voltage (capacitor bank). you gotta pay to play

Summary:
shot in the face? how can you make an eclipse titanium sub sound bad? lets see... eclise has won 3 autosound granprix awards for the titanium 15. For outstanding quality and value. Now thats pretty hard to get recognized for value when its one of the most expensive woffers on the market. Maybe because it can outdo any pair of musical (JLW7, RF, IDmax, cerwin vega etc.)15s in spl and still play accurate and deep bass. hint:use the small theile parameters, build a damn solid box (at least 1 inch walls of dense fibre board), you're going to move heaps of air if you port them. I have a 15 in a 3.55 cu. ft ported box (the sub is .35 displacement and the ports are .2 displacement as they are 14" long and 4" diameter) measured on a real time analyser this sub bangs out nominally 158dB (playing music) with a solid 1800wrms. you will need some big amps, very good 0 gauge power wiring and nice gell cell batteries (yellow top are v.good, note the plural= more than one amp, at least one per voice coil and same with batteries, you will be drawing like near 1000cca to get 160dB, no stock alternator and car battery will deliver this.) woof.

Similar Products Used:
not even 2 XTRpro orion 15s can touch this, even in a massive 7 cu. ft enclosure with 4 ports. They sounded sweet though.

Price Paid:  $699.00 from Mr. Tunes

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 eclipse titanium

Strengths:
very loud. very clean.

Weaknesses:
have to have a pretty big box and a very good amp to have them sound nice.

Summary:
This sub is awesome. I have two titanium 12's and two thunder 8100D MTX amps running them. I have a alpine 7893 deck. The system is very loud. I will never replace the subs with anything else!!

Review 5 of 33

Price Paid:  $300.00 from Online

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 88150TiDVC

Strengths:
-Works good in sealed or ported boxes. -Very robust look (typical of TC Sounds woofers). -Plays loud and is capable of excellent SQ in the right setup, considering it's a 15" and has a massive surround. -Able to handle far more than rated power for some serious SPL burps. -Titanium is sexy. -Cheaper than W7's.

Weaknesses:
-The surround is unnecessarily wide. It doesn't move as far as it is advertised --around 2" rather than 3". It's not uncommon for subs to have over-rated specs. -Tinsel lead connection came loose and I had to re-solder it. This could just be a personal experience. -There's other woofers that are priced close and outperform the Ti like the 13W7, but of course JL's done their share of homework. It's not something the average joe would be able to decipher blindly. -Sloppy and peaky in big boxes (duh).

Summary:
Someone should filter out all the moronic reviews on this sub. This sub is great for high volume bass with accuracy to boot. To the person that says it sounds horrible; you have it in the wrong enclosure.
