Review 2 of 2 Summary: I can't remember what I paid for this because I bought it last year some time, and it sat on my shelf until I had the 350 built. However, I forgot about it then, and I just found it about three months ago in that closet. I cleaned the dust off it, bolted it on, and there she went! Like a charm. I would definitely recommend this carb to anyone...if you don't mind bending metering rods, that is. No, it is a good carburetor. Especially if you've got powerful engines that are thirsty. Strengths: I bought a Q-jet recently from Edelbrock to put on top of my 360-horse 350 V-8 in my '77 Nova. This is probably the best carburetor I've had for it, being through to previous to it. First, the flow rate on these things is excellent. Combustion is cleaner than I've ever seen before. Also, I notice a slight power increase in the top end. Weaknesses: Metering rods. You know how much of a pain it is to bend metering rods? That's one thing I liked a lot about my Holley 4160. No metering rods to bend! This is probably the Q-jet's only weakness, though. Similar Products Used: I had, like I said, a Holley 4160 before this. That was a good carb, but it wasn't flowing enough to keep the engine happy. She's a bit thirsty, and the Q-jet feeds it just fine. Also, the price was a bit less than stepping up to a 750cfm Holley.
