Review 1 of 15

Price Paid:  $107.00 from Discount Tire Direct

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 Falken FK-451 GR-Beta

Summary:
Been running them for about 18 months on my 2005 Scion tC. Superb tire, cannot be beat at the pricepoint. At $107-110 each for the 245/40-17s, there is simply no competition.

Tires behave predictably, and give you a little bit of notice before they break away.

I'm not looking forward to when they wear out, as they've been discontinued. I expect at least 25k miles out of the set.

Strengths:
--Excellent price per tire
--Good treadwear
--Relatively quiet

Weaknesses:
--They've been replaced by the FK-452, which is about $20 more per tire.

Review 2 of 15

Price Paid:  $700.00 from Tire Discount

Year / Model Reviewed:
2006 FK-451 on a 2000 Corvette

Summary:
I can't believe all of the reviews I'm reading about no wet or dry grip! Maybe these guys need a wider tire. I'm running 275/40-18 on the rear. With these tires I can finally take off in the rain with out starting in 2nd gear! The dry grip seems pretty good also. A much improved ride over the Goodyear EMT's

Strengths:
Dry and Wet grip.

Weaknesses:
They seem a little soft in the turns but have held on so far.

Similar Products Used:
Goodyear Eagle EMT

Review 4 of 15

Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
1989 Alfa 75 TS

Summary:
I agree with the one other review who canned these tyres. The Alfa is only 150BHP but there's NO WAY you can get started on a wet road with a slight incline without getting sideways. And driving in wet weather they just feel downright unsafe (over steer, drifting, etc). They're o.k. in the dry, but anyone can make a tyre stick in dry conditions. The stock 13" Michelins that were on the car leave them for dead.

Strengths:
looks

Weaknesses:
everything else

Similar Products Used:
Michelin something or other.

Review 5 of 15

Price Paid:  $100.00 from Local tyre dealer

Year / Model Reviewed:
 94 Nissan Silvia

Summary:
Got these tyres as I was a bit short of cash and needed 4 at the same time. I have to say for the money they are pretty good. Very grippy, especially in warm, dry conditions. I can't honestly say I've found the limit on them on many occassions. No problems under heavy braking. Tendency to break free and cause the car to fishtail with very aggressive starts, but apart from that no problem. Not quite as confidence inspiring in the wet, but OK. Diabolical in snow!! Oh my rear tyres wore out after just 9K miles but I do give them a hard time. Not as good as Goodyear F1 GSD3 but a lot cheaper.

Strengths:
Good all round performance in dry Price

Weaknesses:
Wet traction just OK Rears wore to the limit in 9000 miles

Similar Products Used:
Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3
