from Koon's Ford Falls Ch Year / Model Reviewed: 2008 Ford Escape XLT Summary: Ford Escape XLT w/Sun & Satellite, 17" Mag Wheels, Leather Package, Comfort & Convenience Package, Roof Rack, 6CD Changer w/AUX input, Cargo Package, 4wd V6 3.1cylinder
Overall a very nice vehicle, I definitely would opt for the leather interior and the mag wheels, it gives it a little more class as the cloth interior is a bit tacky. Easy controls, nicely placed for driver & passenger access ... tons of room and not as clunky & plasticy as I thought the interior would be ... I definitely recommend it for folks who want a nice smaller SUV, that is subtle but classy, and handles tight.
You can easily baegin this vehicle down from MSRP and even invoice price, my XLT was listed at 23,400 base, 28,600 with the upgrades and I got them down to 24,500 with invoice at 25,000 as equipped.
Ford has a 2000 cash back incentive which with about 3,000 of my own cash down the payments via Ford are around 450 at 7.9% obviously you can refinance at a lower rate later. Strengths: Sun & Satellite Package, Leather Interior, handles smoothly on a truck chassis to avoid the awkward "feel like I'm about to roll over" feel you get in other SUVs, 12mo sirius membership, aux in for ipod Weaknesses: Mats are a bit lacking in size and quality, but I just purchase 45 dollar all weather mats -- I don't have many complaints yet it's a great car at a great price
