Price Paid:  $29000.00 from hiller ford

Year / Model Reviewed:
2006 eddie bauer

Summary:
Nice truck. Rides very well

Strengths:
Rides very well

Weaknesses:
Severe windshield glare....Ford says its a normal glare. That's a lie. The gm and manager both sat in car and agreed with me. It is unsafe to drive because of this.

Review 3 of 391

Price Paid:  $30000.00 from Jerol Hopkins Ford

Year / Model Reviewed:
2006 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer

Summary:
Purchased truck about a year ago. I drove every midsize SUV on the market, Envoy, Trailblazer,4 Runner, Durango, you name it, and I decided on the Explorer for the styling, ride, and power. Vehicle has preformed flawlessly. No problems what so ever. Ride is very smooth and quiet. Engine is very smooth, quiet, and responsive (4.6L V8)even when towing my Ski Boat. Exterior styling, fit and finish is excellent. Truck turns heads where ever you go. Interior is very roomy, lots of storage, leather seats are firm but comfortable. Power seat option make driving a pleasure, even on long trips. All controls are conviently located and easy to operate, and interior styling is as classy as the exterior styling. Fuel economy is OK, 20mpg to 22mpg on the highway, 15mpg to 18mpg while towing boat. This is the first Ford vehicle I have owned in over 20 years, but it will not be the last. Because of the experience with my Explorer, I just replaced my GM pickup with a new Ford.

Strengths:
Truck is strong in every way, styling, performance, fit and finish, comfort, and handling.

Weaknesses:
None

Montero Sport, Chevy Blazer

Review 4 of 391

Price Paid:  $33000.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2006 Ford Explorer XLT

Summary:
Drive it . . . quiet, smooth and tracks like a dream.

My old one was a '96 and had 177,000 on it. Doesn't compare to the 2006. V8, leather, sunroof with 3rd row seat. If you can live without a marquee badge on the hood . . . take a test drive. Nice size, nice ride and solid.

The real test isn't the first 15,000 (so far great) . . . it is what happens after 150,000. Hope it compares to the '96

Strengths:
Smooth ride and quiet. Comfortable seats. Lots of room. Nice space in 3rd row.

Weaknesses:
Door handles - somebody screwed up here on the review line. 2007 have added a grab slot so the problem is gone. Shift on console - again, somebody sleeping on the design board - lose all the space for "things" (like a cell phone).

Similar Products Used:
Expedition (cruises nice like a battle tank, but a bit big for my day to day).
Jeep Wrangler (nice vehicle but felt a little insignificant)
