Strengths:
I would highly recommend these tires to any owner of a full size 4 door vehicle, needing a long wearing, aggressive tire for high speed or extended highway driving usage. Ride, handling, cornering, wet/dry traction, are excellent, and steering responsiveness is outstanding.

Weaknesses:
Price($150 and up) and limited availability make this a difficult tire to find,and is not made in P225/70R15 100H-rated size by Goodyear anymore.

Goodyear Eagle GT+4 Maximum Mileage test.
I have completed 80,000 miles on Goodyear Eagle GT+4 tires, purchased new on sale at $115 per tire. My 1992 Ford Crown Vic & former Florida Highway Patrol Interceptor, was purchased used from the state in 1998 with 86,000 original miles, & was equipped with Goodyear Eagle GT+4 tires (100H rated), standard issue for their vehicles at that time. I have driven them in hot,dry weather and rainy, slick conditions on roads in Florida in excess of 35,000 miles(mostly interstate miles), sometimes in excess of 16 to 18 hours per day.This vehicle also made a trip from the west coast of Florida, across Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado in the late summer of 2000, with heavy loads in excess of 12 hours per day. It has also experienced cold, snowy, icy, Colorado winters with numerous trips into the mountains at higher elevations. Not once did I have a tire related failure in any condition, nor a loss of traction at less than optimal driving conditions. I am replacing them only because they are just plain worn out. This was an extreme test of endurance, on mostly Highway/City driving, in the front range of the Rockies in all types of driving conditions, with no tire related failures. Only near the end of their service life did I experience any loss of tire pressure, or less than optimal response, from these tires. I would highly recommend this tire to anyone needing a long wearing, aggressive tire for high speed or extended highway driving usage, with a Full size rear-wheel drive passenger vehicle for improved high speed or long distance driving, where superior handling and traction is a need. Goodyear's 100H or 100V rated tires have been original standard equipment on Ford Crown Vic Interceptors for many years; this is ample testament to their numerous law enforcement customers.

Strengths:
grips the road, great in turns.

Weaknesses:
The tread is wide and I'm concerned it might attract nails.

Summary:
A few weeks ago, I brought my Audi A4 in for a wheel alignment. The previous tires (cheezy Pep Boys No-Name Radials) were totally shot. The repair shop suggested new tires all around, and I agreed. They gave me prices for 3 different tires, all fairly low end radials, and the prices quoted were $79 for Mickey Mouse Brand tires, $85 for a name brand I forget, and $89 for Goodyear. I said go for the Gusto. I wandered over to a cafe fro a few hours while the tires were delivered and installed. I came back and noticed these Goodyear GT +4 tires all around... I went to the manager and said "Ummmm- these are Eagle GT +4s. These are not cheap tires." I was afraid he had done something like try and charge me for heinous tires and cry fait accompli or something. He was also shocked. He said "Dang- my dealer wants $140 for these! I ordered something else. Cool. They must have sent the wrong tires. Pinheads. Oh well. Not my problem, not your problems. It's his problem. Merry Christmas, dude..." Now that some time has passed, I can say that these are very good tires. They're not as quiet as the more "domestic" tires it had on before, and the ride is a little firmer, but I can throw this car into a turn with much greater confidence now. It rained a few days ago, and it handeld very well in the rain. I am not a Racing Car Driver, I'm just a Dad who puts most of the miles on the car driving my daughter to school and buying groceries, and for a domestic drone (a happy and completely eccentric drone) such as myself, these tires are Way More Tire than I will likely ever need to own. And considering the killer price I got, I'm one happy camper! best to all, Mister Studebaker

Strengths:
Dry weather cornering. Long tread life (77K). This is long, right?

Summary:
My 1998 Mercury Mystique LS has these from the factory. Mostly freeway driving in dry, sunny, So Cal weather so don't really know about it's wet pavement performance. Also, never really pushed it that hard but I take my fair share of tight curves without any noticeable squeel. The odd thing is, especially reading the other reviews, is that mine have 77K miles on them (little over 3 yrs) and the tread is still ok (I'm replacing them now though). Again, these are probably 99% freeway miles, but I'm still impressed - especially if the MSRP is really $87 dollars.

Strengths:
Attractive sidewall design (serated lettering). Excellent dry weather grip due to soft rubber compound.

Weaknesses:
Poor mileage. They were worn out at 28,000 mile.

Summary:
Tires are a good all weather high performance tire. They stick like glue going around curves with absolutely no tire squeal. You can also "launch" the car from a standing stop without spinning them. The main drawback is that they wear out too fast (28K). I don't like buying tires every 2 years.

Recently purchased Firestone Firehawk SH 30 tires. They were rated #1 by Tirerack's customers. They handle as well as the Goodyears in dry weather and outperform them in wet weather. They are wear rated to 50K. At $96 each they are an exceptional value.

Strengths:
Turn-in, dry grip.

Weaknesses:
Wet grip, uneven wear.

Summary:
With only 6 inch wide wheels on the SHO, this tire with its stiff sidewalls was a must have. These came with the car. I also tried the P4000. They were more of a touring tire. The Dunlop SP4000 may be an all around better tire, even better handling, but with narrow rims, the Goodyears handled best. Their turn-in is razor sharp, the dry grip is very good and they are fairly quiet. Wet traction is decent, and I got by a few winters fairly well. Uneven wear could be a problem if you don't watch the air pressures closely. Overall I liked them, but there are many new tires with better technology and better performance.
