Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $400.00 from Four Wheel Center

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1979 z-28

Summary:
I purchased a CenterForce clutch and pressure plate, and I was not satisfied with the quality either. I expected it to last at least three years for that price. I never felt the "light pedal feel" until the pressure plate gave out! Throughout the use of this clutch, I also noticed problems including whines and hard pedal. I couldn't do anything because the mechanic advised me that if the clutch was defective, I would still be charged for the labor, so I used this lousy 400.00 clutch until it gave out. Now I am considering a Hays, but don't want the same problem to happen. Any suggestions wold help.

Strengths:
NONE

Weaknesses:
Everthing

Similar Products Used:
Hays on another car that I own. No problems..

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $400.00 from B & B High Performan

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1986 Camaro Iroc-Z28

Summary:
Back in the mid to late 80s, my stock clutch wore out from a lot of parkway driving. So, I decided to get a known HiPo street clutch. I decided to get the Hayes. I had it installed at the dealership. As soon as I got into the car and pressed in the clutch, I knew something was wrong. The pedal pressed downward way too easily. When I accelerated out onto the highway, the motor rpms would suddenly go upward without feeling any more increase in speed. The bloody Hayes was slipping. the diaphram spring was defective. So I got a Borg-Warner, and I''ve had it for the past 10+ years. If you have a V-8 powered dinosaur like me with tons of torque, the BW clutch is WAY better made.... Sorry Hayes, but you guys cost me a ton of money on that one and I''m not forgetting about it...._

Strengths:
Piece O Crap

Weaknesses:
Failure right out of the box. Thats as bad as anything can get.ê

Borg Warner
