The VR690 is a very capable speaker. As long as you have the proper components to fill in what it slightly lacks. Rated at only 80W rms, it can push some of the higher volumes, or reach down to get some much needed bass response for those lacking a subwoofer. For the amount of money I paid for them, I'm happy. They hit high and clean and I have not once heard them distort.
