this is a good looking and well made sub and has the name JL ;but this sub looks better than it sounds.i am in my mid forty's and have been into car and home audio for near to 30 years and build speakers and subs as a hobby.this sub would suit someone new to car audio or someone who likes labels.i payed $220 for it it costs 395 in australia.it does sound average and has alot of output for its design purpose;but it is not a musical/real sounding sub;+ there are far better and cheaper subs than this.i have sold this sub for what i payed for it and brought a clarion PXW 1552 for $150brand new and put it in the same seal box as the JL.the difference is huge. it sounds cleaner; goes lower and sounds more real; + alot cheaper than the jl;this is one under rated sub that i will be keeping.
