Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $380.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1997 Nissan Altima

Summary:
I actually have a newer(2001) version of this reciever, it's DPX-4010. Radio, CD, and tape quality are all good, but are not exellent. It may be due to the fact that I have stock Clarion speakers(10w RMS) and no amp. I had this unit for a little more than a month and would recomend it to others. However, I don't feel that it's worth more than, or even the $380 that I spent on it. In fact, I believe that the wholesale price for it is $300.

Strengths:
DSP with 5 soundfields and 5 EQ presets; CD frequency response 10-20,000 Hz tape frequency response 25-22,000 Hz; CD and radio station naming; 22W RMS; nice display.

Weaknesses:
No rotary volume control; display is not always easy to read in very sunny conditions; CD skips when you're driving over a ditch or rough surfaces

Similar Products Used:
none. Alternatives - Clarion ADX5655z,JVC KW-XC770,Pioneer FH-P4400,Aiwa WD-X500M(isn't as good as others but cheap)
