Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $100.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000

Summary:
With my excelon amp running these two subs, all I have to say is.....damn!!! At low volumes, these subs can accurately produce bass with tight hits and deep lows. My amp is dropped all the way to 1ohm, so I've got 300w going to each sub. I haven't pushed them too hard yet, so I cannot comment on the durability of these subs, but from what I've listened too, the seem to be able to handle plenty.

With its high SPL rating (92db), these subs will still pound, even on a 75w amplifier. They are the best of both worlds: hits like a 10", plays deep like a 12". I am a happy camper with these subs, especially for the price I paid for each one but even for the MSRP @ $200 each, they are still worth it.

Strengths:
Very efficient sub. They hit hard and play deep simultaneously. Love the purple cones

Weaknesses:
None, this is my first pair of subs

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $130.00

Summary:
A very clean sounding bass machine. Kenwood lists the resonant frequency below the low frequency cutoff of this product. This means that in a ported box the woofer keeps it's act together, sounding comparable to a sealed enclosure in tightness and a ported box in deepness. It reaches 124db C weighted in my car with a 40W amplifier. It just gives good bang for the buck.

Strengths:
SPL efficient: plays loud on 'flea' power. SQ: hits low, tight, hard.

Weaknesses:
Needs a pretty large enclosure, and is picky about enclosure parameters. Limited power handling compared to the most exotic woofers.

Similar Products Used:
My installation (a Corrolla with rear deck removed, 40wpc) is 6 dB louder than 4 RF Power DVC's at 800wpc in my freind's Chevy Blazer. But, not as loud as many others I'm sure.
