Price Paid:  $525.00 from Boomer Mcloud

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 JL 500/1 monoblock

Strengths:
It just kicks like crazy..If you have money and can afford JL Audio i would recomend u get it! pure quality sound that it gives off

Weaknesses:
NONE!

Summary:
Hey I Just bought a new system which is the JL 500/1 Monoblock and also got the 12 inch JL W3v2's.They sound soo good in my car! I had a Kendwood 2 channel 800 watt and 2 12" JL WO's. If u want loud deep bass get this setup..They say the 500/1 is meant for real listeners and..all i have to say it does its job very well!

Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $150.00 from EBAY retailer

Year / Model Reviewed:
 MB Quart DSD216

Strengths:
These speakers have everything you need if you are look for strong midbass and highs. I power them off my Panasonic dfx972u head unit, which means they are only get 25w RMS! That's pretty lame considering the RMS for the speakers are 50w. Nevertheless they sound awesome. I am looking to buy a dedicated amp for these speakers, they will probably be loud as hell. The highs are nice, but i think they could be louder, same with the midbass, i think i just need an amp. WHen i bump my shiet, people around you notice i don't know if that's a good or bad thing depending on where the cops are at. So far no cop has bothered me about it, i don't think its loud enough to get their attention. I just need some subs, then it would be all good.

Weaknesses:
Not a whole lot, to get the most out of these speakers, you need to get an amp, the highs could be a little louder, midbass if perfect.

Summary:
Aite, well these speakers are pretty cool, i kind of took a risk when i bought them but im glad i took that risk. These speakers will help to make a bomb ass system as long as you have a subwoofer also. As for me, money is tight, and i can't buy subs so i made sure i at least had some mids and highs. And sure enough that is what i got. I saw a review of these speakers in some car audio magazine and it got a great review. For the price, i went with these speakers. No regrets. I had them installed at my local car audio store for $85.

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $150.00 from car audio depot

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002 Discus 216 components

Strengths:
Great balance of mids and highs. THey take almost as much bass abuse as the pioneers and have much clearer mids and highs. BEter mids and bass than the eclipse but those eclipses are still the best ive found if you have subs to hold up the low frequencies

Weaknesses:
better than the rest but id still like a more stable speaker at higher volumes

Summary:
I bought these fairly cheap for bringing quite a bit of business to a local shop. The guy i knew there told me they were the hot setup and i had talked to a buddy about the older model of them. I started with the stock speakers in the doors of my 91 bronco (which sucked) and put in pioneer 3 way 6 1/2 inchers. they had alot of bass. The cool thing about the pioneers was i could abuse the hell out of them, hook the amp up to em, just beat em and theyd take it. I got some eclipse subs and swapped out the pioneers for some eclipse 6 1/2s. They had near perfect highs which slightly overpowered the rest of the frequencies. I loved them but they didnt have any midbass for up front. Thats when i got the MB''s. The mid woofer is awesome. It actually rattles my doors . Dynomat time but they really are awesome. The tweeter has very perfect sounds too. Just as clear as the eclipses highs but not quite as loud. I would recommend them

Review 4 of 4

Price Paid:  $185.00 from www.shoppersadvantag

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000 dsd216

Strengths:
Very well blended full frequency sound

Weaknesses:
the only waekness is the bass may pop some if you are not amping them

Summary:
I purchased these speakers back in september. I listened to all sorts of different speakers from all over the place. When I was done I bought the DSD216''s they were by far the cleanest and clearest set of speakers i could find under $300.00 Even then they are still comperable to other quality sets weather they were cheaper or more expensive.
